Summer fun!

I went camping this past weekend - lots o' fun was had by all! It was mizraelle, Amanda, Kevin and I. We got there Saturday right after lunch, and it rained as soon as we pitched the tent (good thing we decided to do that right away). We hid out for the afternoon, playing Crazy Eights and Scrabble, until the rain finally died down. We were stuck beside a couple noisy parties, but rather than let it ruin our trip, we decided to mock them at every possible opportunity. :þ This is the summary of the weekend:

"JASON! Jason! Jason! Jason! JASON! JASON! JASON! Jason! Jason! Jason!"

"Shh-shh-shh-shh-shh-shh! Shh! Shh! Sh-sh-sh-shh!"

"I love you baby, but you're gonna have to get on top for a while."

Only the last one was sexual - the girl screaming Jason's name was angry at him/everyone, and the shushing was toward the girl for constantly yelling at everyone. We eventually figured out everyone's names and sort of made stories for all of them. :þ

Yesterday the weather was nice, so we played badminton and swam in Long Lake for a while. It was really nice! I can't remember the last time I swam in a lake! After swimming, we sat on the grass and played more cards before heading back home. It was a very nice, albeit short, weekend. :)

This upcoming weekend is the Calgary Folk Festival! Woo, I'm excited! This is the first time in 10+ years that both my parents will be there. The only one missing is Tony, unfortunately - but he has no one to cover for him at work. Boo!

Sheridan phoned me this morning - it was the first time I talked to him in months. He said he's been trying to cut down his drinking considerably, which is good. I told him I'd call him back because I was at work and didn't want to be on the phone too long, so I'd better remember to do that tonight after Dragon Boat/Taste of Edmonton. I've missed talking to him, and am really excited to see him (and everyone) this weekend. I also have to buy birthay gifts for everyone because I'm overdue. -_- I told Dylan it would be a Folk Fest Christmas!

Weight Watchers has been successful so far. 4 pounds gone since starting, and 7 pounds overall. Slow but steady! I'm feeling more into it, which is definitely good. I still need to get back to the gym, but I have been quite busy this summer, so that's not too bad! My endurance is getting stronger for Dragon Boat. Woooot.

I have two design projects lined up this summer. My uncle phoned me asking if I could design a logo for his tool rental shop; and I got a random Facebook message from someone asking if I could design a poster for their Fringe musical. I haven't heard back from the latter, so I don't know if they still need it - perhaps I'll follow up with him tonight. I was looking forward to that one! I love doing posters, and if it falls through, it's going to be my first paid project.

That's about it for my updates. I'm hoping to see The Dark Knight this week! The line-ups and ticket pre-sales have been crazy!
