friday 3/30/07 W 3-2
it was a rematch of the finals against the OFOS, cops. it was chippy right from the get go. i was holding up a guy in front of our net (#18 Sens), so he hits me in the face with his stick and trips me. no call and he got a goal out of it. needless to say, our bench was livid. later, the same guy pushed harry down in front of our net again. well harry almost fought him, then came over and yelled at the other bench to calm him down. that guy gets out of the penalty box and immediately starts hitting people again. he crosschecked chase in the neck and talked shit, so chase beat the fuck out of him. it took like 3 or 4 guys to get him off. chase might get tossed for the season for it. that guy didn't even get a penalty out of it. lame! we killed off the major, went up 3-1 and held on to win. that's fucking karma, man. no doubt about it.
sunday 4/1 W 6-1
we played pucking awesome. they weren't good. i think it was 6-0 early in the second period. i had a couple of good setups but after a while i stopped caring. they told us to let off the gas, so i just tried to prevent goals instead of score. first one, i got a pass from someone out of our zone. i barely controlled it enough to chip it over a stick over to marina who was all alone. she scored on the break. my second was better. ron forechecked in and the puck squirted loose to me at the bottom of the circle. i hesitated at the shot and slid it under an opposing stick to ray for a chip in. it was a pretty play. a lot of the rest of the game was getting it in the zone and trying to set up harry and ron. it was fun, but not really competitive.
during that game, harry stood across the rink and talked to some official. apparently people on other teams have been complaining that we are too aggressive. we're disrespectful to the refs, which is a joke to me. we hold and hook too much and score too many goals against everyone, blah blah blah.
you know what i call it? bullshit! we didn't even get a penalty in today's game. in the playoffs we had two one goal wins and one by two. that's hardly running up the score. as far as disrespecting the refs go, if they made the damn calls, no one would complain. i get tripped and the other guy scores. jones gets slashed on the wrist, getting an immediate welt, and he gets thrown out. it's a fucking joke. we could've mercied that team today, but we didn't. furthermore, we don't play aggressive and rough unless other teams do it to us. i bet it was the OFOS crying a fucking river cause they can't beat us anymore. we weren't even the best team last session, like a 4th seed or something.
bottom line is... they said if there's anymore hoopla they might forfeit our team for the session. if they do that shit, i'm never playing there again. they don't penalize cheapshots, but they complain when someone defends themself.
just another reason to dislike miami. if i didn't like my team, i'd be out in a flash. this league's pathetic.
Thursday 4/5 L 5-2
i guess we were playing an undefeated team. hardly anyone showed for us. ray and bj were the only topflite players. i played the entire game, mostly on defense. ray had both our goals. we played without a goalie for about half the game, then ron came in. we were probably better off without him, no offense intended. he gave up 4 goals and only had a couple of saves. bj had quite a bit more than that, but oh well. it was a good game to play nonetheless.
Saturday 4/7 W 3-1
we played a not so good team. i can't remember a whole lot about it since it was a little while ago, but i know i won a lot of faceoffs in the third period. i also remember feeling a bit guilty from playing too much since we were short again. i dropped back on d at points. i think it was close. i can't remember.
Monday 4/9 W 3-1
this team still hasn't won a game. they were a lot better than the record shows though. they had a guy in the back who could move. i made a behind the back pass to set up ray for one goal then i helped get one in by tommy through crowding the net. we played alright. bj was in net and played alright. he was upset about the one he let in though.
Friday 4/13 W 5-0
i guess our roster has been officially sliced in half from last session. no keith or weyneo. chase and jones are suspended. i don't know what happened to patrick or jimmy. either way our record's actually turning out better than last session.
this one didn't have a whole lot to it. i didn't feel too good out there, but i did well enough. ray and bj had one. i think tommy had the others. i played d and wing. that's pretty much all of it.
Sunday 4/15 W 4-0
we had adam but no bj or marina. lee and i subbed out with ron and harry while tommy, adam, and ray played the entire time. they did well too because they scored all of our goals. ray had two. i had some chances and set up adam's. it was really close for a long time. i don't think we got our second until the third. that was a good win for us because it solidifies our roster and builds some confidence going into the playoffs which start a week from tomorrow. it should be fun. i don't know what to expect.
