LET'S PLAY THE RP PET PEEVE GAME
Over the course of my time RPing I have discovered a number of things that trigger the shallow portion of my brain, usually because those things show whether either A) a player is garbage n00b that will never improve, or B) someone who's possibly ooc and makes me hate forever.
Also let it be known all of my annoyance at the mentioned things, and the fact they are even pet peeves, is because they have happened to me in the past. Multiple times. I think it warrants my paranoia and hate for this shit!
LET'S GET STARTED.
1) I believe I have said this over and over and over and over but since they still appear it obviously bears repeating.
IF AN ICON IS NOT SQUARE FOR A REASON THAT ISN'T FOR THE SAKE OF APPEARANCE, IE PEOPLE ARE TOO DUMB TO CROP PROPERLY, THEN I AM IMMEDIATELY ASSUMING YOU ARE AN AWFUL N00B THAT HAS NO HOPE FOR GETTING BETTER.
I'm sure everyone on my flist/who I follow know what it is I speak of.
2) An offshoot of one which I have FRESHLY discovered.
Okay so you can crop something to look square, good job. NOW SET YOUR FUCKING PHOTOSHOP PREFERENCES TO BICUBIC SO YOUR ICON DOESN'T LOOK PIXELATED TO SHIT.
Seriously, there is just...no reason that would happen.
3) I think I mentioned this before but let me restate it.
If you are posting to an open community, and your post doesn't have triggering or offensive in it, then DON'T FUCKING LOCK THE POST! What, are you trying to hide from RPS or something? What reason do you have to hide? That just makes you look more suspicious!
4) SMALL. TEXT. What exactly is the practical use of small text? It just makes things hard to READ! Like okay occasional small text for whispering, or jokes, or ooc notes, I get that. BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE THE MAJOR BODY OF YOUR POST. This is number 4 instead of number one because I am quite aware this is really really really petty, but it doesn't stop it from being annoying.
5) If you have preset pairing icons, and the pics are not of any IC relationship or canon backing? Yeah. That's REALLY telling about some things that make me paranoid. Also, if your excuse is "well I'm just using them for intimate icons and can't find a less ambiguous one"? DON'T PUT THE OTHER CHARACTER IN THE ICON'S NAME IN THE KEYWORDS! Again, reason this is 5 and not near the top of the list is because, as stated with 4, I am aware this is really really really really petty. However just because it is petty doesn't stop the fact I have encountered situations like it before thus WARRANTING my paranoia, nor does it stop the fact it is annoying!
...actually I could make a whole fucking post about stupid character pairings in it's own post now that I've moved past that part of my life where all I think about is OTPing my characters up.
