Ronnie James Dio died yesterday from stomach cancer.
I bought my first Dio album in the late '90s/early 2000s, mostly as a joke. I grew to appreciate his music and his incredible voice, however, even if his lyric writing was a bit silly at times. Jeff and I had the chance to see him perform with his new band, Heaven and Hell, at the Greek last year. Even at 66, he could still put on a show.
He will be missed.
