The Year According to LJ
January
-I join the LARP Meetup;
-I go to Vegas and have The Star Trek Experience for the first time;
- I begin my first Savage Worlds campaign set in The Shards.
Feburary
-I go to Star Trek: The Tour in Long Beach;
-I run my last short story in Warwick;
-I skip Estrella for various reasons;
-Lance and Carla visit on Estrella weekend, and return my long lost camera;
-I go to the doctor for a cold which has been lingering since January;
-I go to (SCA) fighter practice for the first time in two months, and get my blue card from Lot.
March
-Gary Gygax dies;
-Go to Medieval Times as a collective birthday celebration;
-Get my ear pierced on my birthday;
-Have a cake with lit candles and was sung to in "Court" (BWNN) on my birthday;
-Our first committe meeting to plan the off-campus court turns into a surprise birthday party for me, courtesy of Myra. Even Lance and Carla come down for it;
-I go to the Palm Springs Ren faire for the first time.
April
-Charlton Heston dies;
-I go to Southern Faire twice, once on opening day and again at the end of the month;
-I play Blood of Heroes at fighter practice for the first time;
-I go to Boggfest with Myra and Kalyn after Faire;
-Michelle and I make out at her birthday party, and start dating a few days later.
May
-I declan after ten years of being a Caerna;
-King Lorath gives me the Order of the Charter as well as level four of Gawaine;
-I perform the In-Matrix wedding ceremony of Sophoswin and Johanna at their house;
-I go to Southern Faire again;
-After about three weeks of dating, Michelle and I make it official;
-I disown Whinn as part of a storyline;
-I am accidentally responsible for starting the relationship between Warwick and the New Court off on the wrong foot;
-I organize my first SCA War outing at Potrero;
-I play my first 4th edition D&D game.
June
-I drop the Shards game for various reasons;
-I join Gyldenholt's guard;
-Myra and I clean out my dad's office;
-I go to Gyldenholt Anniversary and am very active in the day's activities.
July
-Bozo the Clown dies;
-I start having back pain as a result of kidney stones, although I won't realize what the cause is until later;
-I go to Labyrinth of Jareth despite intense back pain;
-Kurt and Myra rush me to the ER when my back pain becomes too much to bear, whereupon I learn the cause of the pain;
-Mom's car is totalled when an SUV rear-ends it at full speed while I was stopped at a red light;
-My kidney stones are removed in an operation, after which Michelle and I drive down to San Diego for Comic Con.
August
-Issac Hayes dies;
-Return to Vegas to bid farewell to The Star Trek Experience.
September
-Michelle and I see As U2 Like It, a musical comedy version of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" using almost all U2 songs;
-Jeremy builds me a sweet new computer for $600.
October
-My WoW account is hacked and I temporarily lose all of my gold and some of my items, but Blizzard restores it all in short order;
-I plan on camping with the barony at Great Western War, but chicken out at the last minute;
-I run the first adventure in the Iron Kingdoms' Witchfire Trilogy using Paizo's 3.5-derived Pathfinder ruleset. It is meant to be the beginning of a new campaign, but after a break of a month at the end of the adventure, I decided that I didn't want to keep running it.
-I go back to work for Art at Hack Shack Studios.
November
-Lance and Carla lose their home, their cats, and very nearly their lives in the Tea House fire;
December
-Michelle and I see The School of Night in Los Angeles;
-Spent Christmas at Michelle's with her family and mine (my mom), as well as a couple of close friends;
-Spent New Year's at Caroline's, where we played board games and refracted laser light through diamonds in the fog outside.
