blah blah russell blah blah

After what feels like ages of pining but in reality was more like two weeks, I've now had Russell's book in my possession for two days. Tonight I cracked it open for the first time, in a bar listening to a mediocre goth band, of all places. I made to to page 17 before I started to feel too anxious to go on. Lex tried to tell me to remember that he's okay now and by buying the book I'd probably put some cereal on his breakfast table (or paid for a can of cat food for Morrissey, I guess) but it didn't really help. How stupid would it be if I never manage to read the damn book? I do cuddle it in public but it's not really the same. Oh, Russell, you hurt my heart.

I happened to see a download for Re:Brand in a location I won't disclose here for reasons y'all internet pirates should know, and it came with the side note that the uploader wasn't sure which was worse, that show or Ponderland. Some folks in comments felt Ponderland takes the first place in rubbish television involving Russell. Wait, what did I miss? It's just stand-up! Heavily recycling his old material, yes, but somehow if you're into Russell I'd assume you like his stand-up...? And you'd have to make a hell of an effort to make a show as indisputably bad as Re:Brand, bless its little heart.

I don't get it, thus it bugs me. But don't ask me, I'm a pariah who kinda sorta oddly digs Donny Tourette. ;)

This day was officially an utter waste, though I did get to see Lex and Bell and that was nice, despite my vaguely overcast PMS-y mood. And now I'm going to watch some 8 out of 10 Cats with Simon Amstell and David Walliams, tragically not in the same episode.

nice to have russell brand
