Ordered List

I've decided to rank my PS2 game collection again and am likely to have changed my mind since last time around, the set has got much larger since then so I'm restricting it to those titles that can be considered as RPG types, even if some are a bit dodgy in that regard. I do have two not in the list as I haven't played enough of them to judge so ( Read more... )

I thought BOF:DQ and Suikoden III were very high qaulity titles. DQ was very unique and interesting.

WA 3 wasn't the best game but was definitely enjoyable, to me anyways, enough to play through twice. I liked the battle system, although the story was a bit dry.

I think if you compare Dark Cloud to games out now it'll pale in comparison..but if you face it against games that came out around the same time it's a bit higher on the scale. Pretty good game, it got a bit old later into it..But I found it to be pretty fun..You just have to take it for what it's worth.

No, Dark Cloud was flawed at the time. I decided not to play it again when my best weapon broke in the ship section because enemies there seriously drained my WHP and it wasn't upgrading fast enough elsewhere.

It isn't its age, just I thought it had bad ideas that frustrated more than encouraged; after all three of its contemporaries: Summoner, Okage and Ephemeral Fantasia placed rather well on the list.

The position of Dark Chronicle shows that I didn't find the ideas of Dark Cloud bad, just the implementation of them. Permanent weapon breaking being for me one of the worst ideas envisaged, temporary so you have to fix it I can live with happily.
