It looks as if I have let some time pass since my last update. Admittedly, however, there really has not been all that much going on to be able to provide an update. Life has feel pretty routine and it truly sums it up when my mom said to me on the phone the other day, "I miss you when I don't hear from you." That really hit me hard given how close my mom and I are. But, really - and like I told her - there really has not been all that much going on for me to report in the past few weeks.
Mom and dad have been heavily afflicted by flooding in the Midwest. I did not realize how bad it had been since it really hit home - literally. Their (and my own original home) was hit by flooding and the basement was under water. They have lost a significant amount of personal items and now have to work on restoring the basement which had already been refitted. It has been so hard for me to hear their plight over the phone but I do realize that it is nothing in comparison to what they are actually experiencing. I wish that there were more that I could do and it is so hard to be geographically removed from them and hear about what they are going through.
Work has been work until just this past couple of weeks where I have returned to my duties of being on a task force to be on a team to test a new sales database program for the sales force. We are now in the last phases of testing before the system is rolled out into the sales force. It has been interesting to see what has been changed and implemented on our input and to see what we will be working with in the next coming weeks, months, and years to come.
This past weekend Timothy has been out of town and in New Orleans for Southern Decadence. It sounds as if he has been having a great time from the texts and calls that I've been getting from him. I definitely had a great Labor Day weekend here in Seattle myself. It was great to have the extra day in the weekend to relax and have fun. I have enjoyed some time hanging out with friends, reading at the coffee shop, and I may have even spent some time with a boy .
Labor Day weekend has definitely been the highlight of the past month or so. I always perceive Fall to be a slow time but now is really when things pick up. A variety of weekend trips are coming my way in addition to the possibility of a work trip out to my sales territory. We shall see.
I do have to say that it has been wonderful to have some acquaintances whom I see out at the gym, at coffee, out at the bars, etc. finally chat and make friends. One of those whom I've finally made friends with is
Matt. I see so many people out wherever I go and I try to be friendly but the action is never quite returned - as I have mentioned in previous posts. I've even had people come up to me at the bars and say that they've seen me at the gym, etc. How awesome is that and I'm happy for friendly people in Seattle. I look forward to becoming better friends with them and meeting others as well.
