7 Bayern drabbles

Nov 12, 2007 18:21

Wrote 10 drabbles for footie_100. Writing under pressure and lack of time somehow works for me. Interesting. Anyway. Two Klose&Klasnic drabbles and a random Serie A one are located here. And 'usaha saya telah membuahkan kejayaan.' Bayern won at footie_100 this week. *bounces* First German team to win there! The joy.
...translation of the 'foreign sounding' words  - my efforts have brought rewards. or something.

Prompt - pain. Team of choice - Bayern Munich (duh!)

Title: Anticipation
Character: Lukas Podolski
Notes: Set after the Bayern-Bolton UEFA cup match.

Bad breaks. Everyone gets them, though some fare worse than others. Well, at least I more than proved my worth in the team tonight. Two goals against Bolton. Now, if only I could play well enough to constantly challenge for a first team spot.

At training the next day, I run and play faster than ever, pushing myself to the limit. I've seized my rare opportunity with both hands, now is the time to build on it.

The pain of having to miss games due to injury is fast disappearing. I'm raring to go. Can't wait to take on Stuttgart.

Title: Welcome back, captain!
Characters: Lukas Podolski, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Oliver Kahn
Notes: The more I study, the more I write crack.

The first day Kahn returns to regular training, Schweini and Poldi decide to welcome him back.

They break into his locker, place a signed card within and rig the door to spring open with extra force.

Innocently, they head off for training.

After training, they observe Kahn as he walks into the dressing room and opens his locker.

A yell of pain is heard as the door hits Kahn’s forehead. Peering in, Kahn spots a white card.

“Welcome back, captain! From: Schweini-and-Poldi.”

The card doesn’t soothe Kahn, who turns around in search of the culprits. Schweini grabs Poldi’s hand.

“Run.”

Title: Impulsive Force
Characters: Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger
Notes: Inspired after having studied too much physics.

“Imagine if a football could feel pain.”

“…what?”

“Wouldn’t it scream? Think of the large impulsive force acting upon it whenever someone kicks it.”

“Has the Schweini I know been replaced with an intellectual person?”

“Shut up, Poldi. Think about it. The change of momentum occurs within a miniscule time frame and the velocity is enormous. Especially during free kicks or penalty kicks.”

“Who’re you and what have you done with Bastian Schweinsteiger?”

“I’m Bastian Schweinsteiger, the genius who was forced to help his nephew with his physics homework.”

“…”

“Those equations were horrible. I’m so glad I’m a footballer.”

Title: Of formulas and experiments
Characters: Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger
Notes: Inspired after having studied too much physics. Related to ‘Impulsive Force’ but stands alone.

“Poldi, did you know that the impulsive force acting on a football can be calculated?”

“How?”

“Look at this experiment plan.”

“You actually understand it?”

“Naturally.”

“This is painful. My best friend is becoming an intellectual person. And here I thought his brain held nothing but wool.”

“Hey! I take that as an insult. Besides, a footballer has to know some physics. The speed needed to kick a ball so that it spins, that’s Bernoulli’s principle. And to-”

“Why don’t you ask the coach to teacher us physics during our next training session?”

“I might.”

“I disclaim all responsibility.

Title: Sheer Irritation
Character: Oliver Kahn
Notes: Set after the Bayern-Bolton UEFA cup match.

Kahn walks off the pitch, fuming. Talk about being a pain to watch. Dominating, having the lion’s share of possession, creating countless chances, yet what did his team achieve? A draw. Against Bolton who are near the bottom of the Premier League. He decides that Bayern have just thrown away two points. Of course, he’s partly to blame, letting in two stupid goals like that. But still.

The moment they’re safely back in the dressing room, he raises his voice to let his teammates know that wasting countless chances is not good. This is Europe, where mistakes have dire consequences.

Title: Quotable Quotes
Characters: Lukas Podolski, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Miroslav Klose
Notes: Completely inspired by this post. XD!

"I'm not vain at all, I occasionally leave the house without wearing make-up."

The moment Bastian Schweinsteiger heard those words, he began laughing helplessly until he had a painful stitch in his side. Klose had said some hilarious things before, but this had to be his best effort yet.

Hauling himself up from the sofa, Schweini reached for the telephone and dialed Poldi’s number.

“Poldi? Did you hear what Klose said on the Pro7 station?”

“You heard it too?” Peals of laughter.

“This has the potential to be priceless blackmail material.”

“He’ll never live it down. Plotting starts tomorrow, Schweini.”

Title: Catalyst
Character: Philipp Lahm
Notes: Set after the recent Stuttgart-Bayern Bundesliga match. Philipp Lahm played for Stuttgart for 2 seasons on loan before returning to Bayern.

It’s a funny feeling, this.

Crashing to your first defeat after 24 games was always going to be painful, especially when you played part of the match. But yet, when you see your former teammates’ faces alight with the self-belief that seems to have deserted them this season, the pain somehow doesn’t seem so acute.

You offer congratulations to the Stuttgart players before disappearing into your team’s dressing room, annoyed at your own lackluster performance tonight. Internally, you vow to crush them during the return fixture in the Allianz Arena.

This defeat? It'll spur you to work harder than ever.
