HIMYM Finale, bit o' TV stuff

I really seem to love Drunk-Super-Canadian!Robin. I want to see more of her XD If possible, with Sleepy-Drunk!Barney.

I've rewatched the hospital scene too many times to count, 'cause it's hilarious. Though it's been said they're trying to out-Mosby each other (god, Ted is the butt of so many jokes: the correcter, Ted-ing out, don't be a Ted, and now the Mosby XD I love it), Barney's not, he's trying to get her to consider him as a datable guy, which is a bit of a tall order still. I mean, the whole "He's Barney..." thing is still rather in effect, as he hasn't changed; from her - and pretty much everyone's - point of view, he's still the juvenile womanizer someone would have to be crazy to consider dating. He needs to prove he's actually serious about her, about monogamy; if he's as clingy as Lily suggested, and Robin doesn't freak-out too much, there's a chance there. The little "trouble" speech was adorable and the look he gave her before he leaped, like he will really try for her. \

It's a shame her feelings weren't developed this season, but their chemistry together was repeatedly demonstrated, so there's that. Next season would therefore have to be how they "sort out" their feelings, what they want to have together. I figure being such close friends and having slept together without resolution (she did kick him out awfully quick and refused to speak of it, shame and fear for the effect on her relationship with her other friends, I think; plus, it was Barney [see: Lily's initial reaction, but then the "Was it amazing?" quip]), there's gotta be something there. How could she not consider it occasionally, but realize the futility of it, seeing as how he is? Beyond his noticeable freak-outs whenever she got together with a dude this season (barring Stan, since Barney and Marshall were in love with him, too), he's done some very nice things for her, but not voiced anything romantically. Barney's a strange guy she thinks is awesome, but a romantic relationship with him has got to have been one of the most outlandish things to think of, based on his record.

(I feel like I'm coming off as someone with real doubts about their chances, while the actual truth is if they don't wind up together I'm going to throw a fit. ::is completely serious:: My real complaint about the ep is that when I saw him ostensibly be relieved of his feelings, I literally [as Ted would say, not Robin] felt sick to my stomach, wanted to stop watching the ep, even the show 0_o 'Cause I actually thought it possible they would abandon this plotline, allowing Barney to be the creepy womanizer who could never be with a woman for longer than a night for the remainder of the show. Which is absolutely ridiculous if thought of logically, but when has logic ever factored all that strongly in fandom? ;) This storyline has such a ridiculous amount of potential, and they are so good together, it's laughable to think that they would drop it. I do definitely watch this show for them now, though; I love Marshall and Lily, but they're not my focus. Ted is Ted, though Prof Ted is cool and incredibly sensible.)

I mean, how does one react to hearing something like "The suit is Robin" and its meaning? Robin's commitment-shy to begin with, and Barney is her equal in that regard (well, in the beginning he wasn't); how do you start, how do you form a relationship with their baggage? Robin's only had one long-term relationship, and that took a year to begin and another to end, plus the whole "I love you" thing, so she's a hard sell from the start. And Barney as the paramour? I totally get her reluctance, nor think she was being a bit mean or insensitive; she was being Robin and trying not to hurt him (or herself, if you think about it). Obviously it wouldn't have worked even if Lily had kept the beans form Barney, as he couldn't have failed to notice Robin's presumptive lack of awkwardness around him later on, plus I bet those feelings would attack him as soon as he saw her with another guy. I like to think Lily knew this, 'cause she's awesome (she was hilarious in this ep, but she's Lily ♥, so that's to be expected), and her encouragement of the Mosby fed into her plans for the couple =D You know she's got ideas ♥♥♥

I think during the summer they are going to go back and forth, back and forth, sleep together at some point, but continue to be confused about how to come together. Robin will be looking at him differently, watching him more intensely. And Lily will work her magic on them =D

Anyway, I'd felt Robin had been maligned a bit too much as I wandered through reaction posts (not everywhere), and I wanted to defend my girl =)

Hmm, that was long. Oh, I still haven't rewatched the finale of LOST. Have to before it comes off On-Demand, but it's so painful to watch... I haven't watched the second DW special at all, because I just can't muster the interest. I hear the fanboy is funny, but I'm starting to feel like I did after Doomsday, with the need to coax myself into caring. Maybe that was just my dislike of Martha, though; emo!Doctor, in hindsight, was pretty entertaining, what with his Rose-deprivation producing suicidal impulses (ooh, entertaining sounds pretty terrible there, doesn't it? Intriguing to watch, then.) Without Rose I'm all "Eh. What else is on/around to obsess about? Oh look, HIMYM." The third special sounds interesting, though, with the one casting spoiler I've stumbled upon. But that's in November, I think? Or Christmas? Apparently Tennant's last ep is crazy or something 'cause new spoilers appear each week ::sigh:: So difficult to avoid/resist them all...

Well,Torchwood starts their week-long shortened third season in what, a month or so? But it's been neutered, right? ::sighs, will miss the crack:: Still, Gwen.

And Glee is awesome =) And damn it all, Heroes is opposite House which is opposite HIMYM next year and LOST may switch nights again >=( Do Not Move LOST again! 10 pm is too late for it when you have to get up early! Also, ratings/ad revenue! Just pair it with Penny's Flash Forward on Wednesdays or something. C'mon!  ::feels childish, but still!:: I need a DVR bad (-_-;)

lost, doctor who, fangirlism, torchwood, television, himym, i love rose
