Saw The Dark Knight - wonderful, wonderful movie, deserves awards for acting, story, everything - I'm sure you've all heard how great it is so I'll stop.
My weekend has been pretty horrible, with my DS officially declared dead, my iPod making insinuations that it at least will soon need to be restored and my computer - no Vista - deciding that installing updates - the effing recommended updates no less - should cause a complete meltdown. Restarted after the updates due to iPod problems and my taskbar was strange, my internet was non-existant and my sound was disabled. System Resore was inaccessible due to the Volume Shadow Copy function being corrupted (that at least reminded me of the Shadow Proclamation, so y'know, little smile there). Tech support yesterday at 11 pm tells me - after transferring me four times - that I have to effing reformat ::twitches at memory::
At least I was able to use the DVD burner and back up my most recent files. After the movie I started the process with tech support, and it worked, but, damn it - all I did was install the god damn updates I'm supposed to! >:{ What the hell?? I asked tech support what exactly I was supposed to do, what updates are safe, and they thought that because some dell device drivers weren't fully updated the new Vista updates caused a catastrophic incapatibility - but how was I supposed to know that?? ::throws up hands::
So, I've been close to/crying actual tears and pulling my hair out due to frustration with technology this weekend and I effing hate Vista. Just never get it if you can avoid it; I'd downgrade in a second if it didn't cost $300 (price of Win XP).
On the pleasing side - technology-wise - Persona 3 FES is a spectacular RPG, so, that's nice.
