Hachiko, born on November 10, 1923 and died on March 8, 1935, more nown as chuuken Hachiko, is an Akita-bred dog born in Oudate in said prefecture. Brought into Tokyo in 1924 by his owner, Hidesaburou Ueno, who was a professor on agriculture in Tokyo University. After his work, Ueno always got greeted by Hachiko at the Shibuya Station.
