I went to the Castro Valley library for the first time in 5 years.
I thought surrounding myself with the symbol of academia would be a great motivation for job hunting. Instead I was constantly distracted by a boy dressed as batman trying to hush everyone that whispered a question to their neighbor. "No talking in the library." No one appeared to appreciate his vigilante justice.
I was tempted to spread my post-graduate disillusion to unsuspecting high school students studying in the library.
"Man…this is stupid, why is this so hard?" they'd say.
I'd sneak up behind them, whisper in their ear, "You're GPA will only earn you a lonely unproductive life." Then I'd be gone in a dark choking puff of smoke.
Instead I wrote a very cynical cover letter.
