It's a mildly superficial goal, but a goal nonetheless.
Well, the ideal end result is superficial. The process and the result actually mean I'll be a healthier, happier person.
But part of it - so that I maintain some semblance of accountability - is starting up this blog again. At least one post a day.
Now, I've tried to do other blogs. My most concerted efforts were Simply Inconspicuous and We Are Watching TV. The former maybe had 2 posts, and the latter still exists in the form of the Twitter @JoshWatchinTv. It was a group effort with some friends from Leaky. The idea was solid, but the three of us seem to be too busy to put in the effort the idea actually deserves. We're pretty smart people with varying outlooks and opinions, and when we get together it's pretty funny. Maybe it's something for the future.
I think I may also take on the massive effort of copy editing all of my older posts on here. If I'm even going to mildly entertain the idea of writing some day, and would like to use this blog as a point of reference or writing sample, some of the crap on here just won't fly.
I hope to be as open on here - if not more - as I was in college.
I can't be open/transparent about work. Not really. For a number of reasons. But if this works the way I want it to, I won't need to be. Hopefully. Fingers crossed.
The goal, basically, is to take better care of myself so that I can take better care of my life. But that sounds so lofty and fortune cookie that it's the sort of thing - like New Year's Resolutions - that is easy to say you're doing without really doing.
So I'm being more superficial about it.
If I can make the goal, I'll happily admit to it.
So, what's this mean for this blog? One or more posts a day. Preferably detailing what I've eaten and what I've done for the day. Which means actually figuring out how many calories I'm consuming.
That's it for now.
It's good to be back.
