Summary: Hyukjae works for a major firm in Seoul. What happens when he makes partner and is transfered to another firm to help production in Mokpo? It just so happens his new boss-Donghae-is a little less than fond of him.
A/N: I got this idea while in 2nd period sooo I hope it doesn't suck too bad.

Hyukjae sighs as he stands in front of his newly placed couch and wonders why he had agreed to this, but when he sees how much of an improvement this apartment is compared to his old shabby shack, he remembers: oh, right. The money. He turns back to look at the couch and grins at how well the white couch fits in with the bright white walls and he congradulates himself on how white he kept it even through all of the dust and dirt in his old apartment, and he congratulates himself on his expensive business man taste despite the fact that he has anything but money.
He sighs and turns back around, staring at the wall with nothing abstracting his view and he flops down on the white couch he is enjoying priding himself in so much. He hears the quiet squeaks and creaks from his tiny movements, trying to situate himself and he feels empty staring at the blank, white as white can get wall. He feels his aching bones ache more from the sudden relaxation and he stretches his legs out a bit and lets a content smile spread across his face.
"Get off of your ass. I'm not doing this by myself. Help me." Hyukjae threw his head back in irritation and sighed in defeat. "Fine." Hyukjae got off of his oh-so-beloved-couch and ran over to his friend, helping the other with the armchair he had successfully gotten up four floors-most likely with the help of the elevators.
"You're too mean, hyung. I don't know why I spend time with you." The older man giggled and Hyukjae couldn't help but smile at the smal crows feet that showed themselves, hidden behind skin care products and treatments to tighten skin because of a fear of aging. Hyukjae would never admit it to the older man, but he can see the signs of aging, and he can see the results of it, but he would never say that the older was losing his looks, because that just isn't true. If anything, he thinks the older man is getting more and more better looking as he gets older.
"You spend time with me because you love me." Hyukjae smiled and wanted to come back with a witty statement, but as he looks at the older man's smiling face, he finds himself dazzled by the youthfulness that lies in the his hyung's eyes. "I don't love you, Teukie hyung." "I'm your hyung and I say you love me, so you do." Hyukjae arched a brow before he broke out into a smile. "I never listen to my hyungs anyway."
"You listen to me," the older man grunted out as he pushed the chair some, smiling in triumph and achievement as it entered the apartment. Hyukjae shook his head and rolled his eyes, taking hold of the arm rests and pulling upwards, lifting the chair with difficulty and carrying it to the most conveinient spot. "No! If you put it there it will be tacky!" "Hyung! Just go back to Seoul." The older looked at Hyukjae in mock offense. "Don't call me hyung, I am nothing to you." The younger of the two rolled his eyes before pulling away from the armchair, walking to his hyung and wrapping his arms around the older man.
"Hyung, hyung, hyung," the younger purred in a baby-like voice while giving a very odd puppy-dog look to the other. The older man let out a sqeaul, not ready to admit defeat, but Hyukjae knew he won when the older bit the tip of his tongue, while trying to contain the fit of giggles the younger knew was coming in: three, two, one, shoot. The giggles took over and the older pulled away, covering his mouth with that back of his hand.
Hyukjae smiled and stuck out his tongue at the older. "Told you." The other giggled more with that same high-pitched tone everyone grew to love, no matter how annoying. The younger smiled and moved away from his hyung, ready to walk out the door. "Lee Hyukjae! You cannot leave that chair there! It's tacky in that spot!" The younger shrugged. "If you feel that way," Hyukjae said as he continued to walk out the door, waving his hand dismissively," then you fix it, Jungsu." Jungsu pulled uncomfortably at the ends of his white and black jacket before biting his lips and looking up towards Hyukjae's retreating figure. "You! Wait!" Hyukjae only smiled knowingly from where he was. He knew the older would follow.
~~
Hyukjae bit his lip and fidgeted with the ends of his sleeves. Even if he acts like he thinks he is the biggest thing in front of someone like Jungsu, or his friend Jongwoon, or even his close friend, Shindong, he doesn't actually think highly of himself. It's easy to bring others down when you're close to them and they know you don't mean it, so you can have a fake inferiority complex, but when it's new people who you've never met-it's damn hard.
"So we welcome, Hyukjae." He bit his lips harder and tried to refrain from showing his teeth as he smiled-he can't help but think of how unattractive others might find his gums showing. He bowed and said his hello. He stood straight and smiled-still with caution-and waited for himself to be instructed. "Please follow me," says the man and Hyukjae senses this type of... warmth? A warmth that brings him back to Seoul and back to his friends who he's made over the years. In fact, this man has a warmth that one of his close-but not closest-friends have.
He almost wants to burst out laughing like he would always randomly do. "Hyukkie? Why are you laughing?" "You're so funny looking!" Hyukjae smiled whilst in his thoughts, remembering the other man's pout and then slight blush as his insecurities come out. "Don't worry, Zhou Mi, I'm kidding. You're hot." That always made Zhou Mi blush.
Hyukjae was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard the creaking of doors, followed by "this is who Seoul's chain sent us" right down to that quiet but snippy "are you fucking kidding me" and a not-so-quiet scoff. Hyukjae was offended but judging by the way the other sat in his chair, his stature one of a relaxed but high strung man, Hyukjae figures he should shut his mouth.
"Hyukjae, I'm Siwon, and the man here... this is Donghae hyung, our companie's head." Hyukjae smiled at the cool composed voice that came from the other and he thinks maybe this is the person Zhou Mi needs, but then he thinks back to Hangeng and wishes the other didn't leave to China. He wishes the other didn't confess that for years he's been in love with this "Chullie", and he wishes Hangeng never kissed Zhou Mi, because every day he can see the older man's heart breaking, slowly, slowly, slowly.
"Hello?" It is loud, bellowed and all together bitchy. Hyukjae bowed in apology and he mentally curses himself because this isn't a good first impression. Hyukjae looks at the older and feels his cheeks tinge pink and-wait. What the hell?
"Siwon, you can leave." "Wha-but-!" "Leave me and Hyukjae alone!" Siwon looked down with sad eyes. He looked up and let his eyes travel up and down Hyukjae's form before he made a face, akin to a sneer. "Okay, Donghae, hyung." Siwon smiled at the man and Donghae smiled at the other, raising his hand and waving a goodbye, twinkling his fingers cutely.
Hyukjae would be lying if he said he wasn't utterly confused but he decided it doesn't matter and that he shouldn't bother in other people's business. "Hyukjae, to put this simply, I dont like being ignored, spaced out on. I don't care what ever 'severe life problem' you have. I don't care if you are having relationship problems. Get over it. You are an adult. You're not in high school anymore. Got it?" Hyukjae wanted to make a face at the fact the other man didn't use honorifics, but he couldn't because his eyes were wide and he nodded.
Wasn't this man just full of overwhelming bubbly cuteness? Why is he so firm and bold now? "Do you understand or not," the man asks firmly and loudly and Hyukjae's head snaps up and momentarily he wonders when he was looking down but he brushes it off as he feels his heart pounding and something close to fear setting in. Hyukjae nods furiously and smiles shyly. "I understand..." He swallows hard as the man who he will soon be working for observes him.
"Good. Now, leave this room and find who you were just with and get him to show you what you need to do." Hyukjae nods, bows, and leaves, gulping hard and walking to where he sees the man-Siwon, talking to somone who looks a little young.
