I've applied to several jobs and been turned down by one, ignored by all the others.
I've applied to three recruiters that allow me to go abroad.
Footprints: Unfortunately, they won't let me go to Japan until I work for the for a year. So I'd start with Korea first and then my second year would be in Japan (or Europe or the Pacific Islands). I've submitted my resume (and maybe my essay) and asked them a few questions. They tried to call but I wasn't home so they emailed and said call them to set up a phone interview so they could get me going here. HQ: Vancouver, BC
AEON: For those of you that I was bugging to read my essay and proof it...well it had been so long that basically I forgot about this place entirely. I did an entire essay for them and forgot about it. So I submitted it last night and they sent me an email this morning saying they'd received it and would review it soon. HQ: Chicago
Aclipse: They reviewed stuff and said that I need to submit an essay, and since I had already done an essay for AEON (and forgotten about it) I thought that I had done the essay for these guys and I submitted it a day ago. They've yet to reply but it's over 500 words and it was only yesterday so there. HQ: Chicago
These are the three people that are my chances to teach abroad. Footprints seems like my best shot. Why? Because they called me before they sent an email. And answered ALL of my questions in a very VERY prompt manner. They're fairly new and they seem to be my kinda people...nice and easy-going, but like I said, they're new so they aren't well established in Japan so it'd mean Korea for me.
AEON seems pretty hard core. I think it will be pretty hard to be accepted by these guys.
Aclipse seems to be the middle road. But that's only because I haven't really had contact with them. I think I just recieved on of those general secondary emails "Hey, we got your resume, we need more, could you send it?" So the tone of the email was nicer than AEON but I'm still nervous.
Kay's friend hooked me up with a dood who may ask me to help work on his computers. I'm.....shocked, scared, and think I have no business fiddling around in computers. I DON'T KNOW ENOUGH! I need a mentor, a tutor! *hides*
That's the latest for me. I'll keep you updated on everything else.
