spent 2 hours on the phone with my mom this morning. sounds like she's going next tues/wed next week to texas, and that my brothers aren't going, either.
went shopping for my nephew's first birthday present today. got him a wooden duck with wheels that you push, and a wooden zebra that you pull and the head bobs, while the hind wheels "buck." they're supposed to be for 1.5 yr olds, but it won't hurt to have a couple toys to grow into.
need to start dinner soon.
still no word from sichel's about my car, but no news is good news in this situation. my mom also got hit in a parking lot last week. it happened at border's for her, and the person left a note. she just has to get the bumper repainted and fixed, totaling about 500, little more, for her. of course she gets the repair, and i get the replacement ;P.
still debating what to do friday about the car. it makes the most sense to wait at giddeon's work, in case the car gets done, but that is an awful lot of sitting around when the car might not even be finished... it's just that, or i have to wait for tuesday for gidd to be going into town, force him to go to town on monday, or somehow get the bus (harder than it sounds. they just changed the schedule last week, and things are messed up). the bus also means at least an hour of walking when i hit my stop, and giddeon driving me to the stop in monte rio to catch it... we'll see. still leaning to going to town with him on friday. i can read, maybe get an errand or two done, and be able to catch lunch with him. there are worse things.
my drawer got messed up in my desk, so i can't figure out which are the used to death rechargeable batteries for my mouse, and which are still good... yeah, i should have taken the used ones out, but still... charging a number of them right now, and am going to do a test.
got my indian spices in the mail. oh yeah! i know i have a indian store near-ish us, but the mailed ones are fresher. mmm, pickles.
watering plants with dehydrator water always makes me laugh, somehow. it's like "take that! the water from the air that you likely helped create through evaporation! taste your own sweat!"
--shintojuunana, she who is going to start some soup in a minute.
