Post-Christmas Update

Hmmhmmhmm, got Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story for Christmas. It's really quite good so far; it plays around with JRPG conventions for humourous effect, helped in no small part by its great translation. I'm still hesitant about Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, but it's tempting. Maybe when it goes on sale... I kind of really need a nice HD ( Read more... )

I'm tempted to try the Mario & Luigi DS games; they seem like fun. I'm waiting for Spirit Tracks too, maybe for my birthday...

Truffles! o.o They sound delicious!

What are you doing for your Katsucon cosplay?

Bowser's Inside Story has Fawful (AKA "the mustard of your DOOM" guy). Just sayin'.

Secretly? Truffles are REALLY easy to make (unless you're going for fancy fillings, but just chocolate ones are incredibly simple.)

See the dude in my icon for this comment (Jiang Wei)? If I can figure out how to make scale mail (hence the visit to Home Depot), I'm cosplaying as him.

Are you cosplaying his old outfit or the new one?

His new design, even with all the scale-mailing I'm going to need to do, is a lot easier to accomplish than his old ones simply because the cloth needed is much less extravagant. His new weapon, on the other hand...

Are there pictures of his new weapon? I've only seen one picture, and it didn't show much.

KOEIwarriors has pics up, and here's the official site just for kicks (click on Check Features and then on the bar under Da Qiao's face [mouseover that first rectangle to see it]; a random choice between SSX, Zhao Yun, Boyue or Da Qiao will also appear on the page): http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/musoumr2/

Apparently his new moveset is a bit like Cao Pi's old one, but with an emphasis on thrusts due to the fact that the weapon is a double spear rather than two swords. (I think I'm going to make the weapon's halves detachable from each other for ease of travel, as assuming he's still about 6' tall, that spear is at least as tall as I am, even scaled.)

Ah! So THAT'S who your icon is. I thought it was Ma Chao. >_>

Anyway! His weapon is nice and pointy! >:3

A fact which was certainly discussed vigorously on the KW forum. I think he looks more like a cross between Yue Ying and Ma Chao, which, considering his birthplace (just south of Xi Liang) as well as his relationship as a sort of surrogate son to the Prime Minister (no, the other one), makes perfect sense.

Indeed, though creating it will probably make me break down and cry before February 12th. >:/
