Hmmhmmhmm, got Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story for Christmas. It's really quite good so far; it plays around with JRPG conventions for humourous effect, helped in no small part by its great translation. I'm still hesitant about Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, but it's tempting. Maybe when it goes on sale... I kind of really need a nice HD monitor and HDMI cable; any suggestions? Also, screw you, gaming market, for bringing nothing interesting out in January.
I can also scratch Jiang Wei, Huang Zhong, the three sworn brothers (I have two different Liu Beis but neither Guan Yu nor Zhang Fei), Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Sanada Yukimura and Date Masamune off my to-buy list of historical-figure Gundams. (That is, assuming my order doesn't fail somehow...)
Edit 29 Dec: Nevermind, saving the Sengoku lot for later.
I made Dark Chocolate Truffles, Apricot-Raspberry Horns and Eggnog Ice Cream for my mother, father and brother respectively. They all turned out surprisingly well. However, the dough for the Apricot-Raspberry Horns was a pain in the ass to deal with, being comprised of a lot of cream cheese, a stick of butter and just a cup of flour. (I also had to mix the dough by hand, which was...interesting.) The preserves also kind of seeped out of the horns during the baking process (one is supposed to make a certain kind of filling rather than use jam), but on the upside, doing it slightly wrong created a wonderful thin chewy fruit candy where the preserves spilled out.
Now I just need to hit the Home Depot and the fabric store(s) so I can get ready to cosplay this Katsucon...
