Politics, prophets, magazines, and burning flags! GIVE ME A BREAK!
Ok... Before I start complaining and giving my opinion, I'll give a brief explanation for what we're talking about here.
Recently, though I don't know exactly when, some Danish people decided to post caricature sketches of the Muslim prophet Muhammad in a magazine.
Even closer to where we are now in time, a bunch of conservative Christian Norwegian people decided to post the same drawings in their magazine.
This, I feel, was a very shameful and childish act of them.
In Islam, if I'm correct, you're not allowed to make pictures or any other such "copies" of human beings, as for why this is so, I'm not entirely sure. I'm not going to speculate too much on that, because it's not the point.
Anyway, rendering people is bad, and rendering the prophet is probably worse! Especially in a humorous setting!
It's the same as them (the people publishing the pictures)telling the Muslims straight in their faces that they don't respect their religion, and they don't respect them as people.
Of course the published pictures have created political turbulence.
Muslims all over the world are shocked, and angry, and they don't care for this at all.
And they've got all right to be! They did after all get pretty gravely insulted.
And that's not all, folks! Not only did they get insulted, but they got pissed!
Unfortunately, global communications gives us the means to communicate and keep watch all over the world, but it does not automatically give us the means to translate or even properly understand everything we say, see and hear, so misunderstandings happen.
So a lot of Muslims are pissed! And not on the stupid idiots who posted the drawings, but at Scandinavia in general!
They're under the impression that this is government supported and the way people feel all over Scandinavia, even though there's only about 10 people behind the drawing publishing incident, and none of them with any political power.
And because of those 10 idiots, nations will suffer! Not only the nations these idiots are part of, but apparently all of Scandinavia!
Some conservative terror group in Iraq have encouraged Muslims the world over to BOMB all available targets in Scandinavia because of the insult.. And that's insane! Scandinavia is a lot more than the petty sect which started it all, it's a whole lot more than just Norway and Denmark, it's Sweden and Finland as well!
Seriously... What kind of bullshit is this?
Can't people just enjoy their believes and non-believes in peace and have a good time, without pecking on other people?
I mean... We hardly need this right now.
What we need is to come up with something better than the oil that is steadily running out, and people to trade with,
and we won't get people to trade with if our minor religious groups run around insulting everybody all the time.
Ah, and I don't care much for Scandinavian targets getting bombed either.
