Book #1 Pride By Rachel Vincent started 1-1-2010 finished 1-26-2010
Book one of my new years challenge to read 50 books this in one year.
I was going to go with the lighting thief. But I got derailed by Pride. So I finished this and was like wow.On with the review.
Faythe is on trail for infecting her ex boyfriend with the werecat virus and also murdering him to cover up that fact.. Plus her love life is in shambles.
Ok Faythe has a mouth on her so she does get into a lot of trouble. Plus 2 of the Alphas do not think she is worth the time and just might want to kill her instead of putting up with her attitude.
In this book there were a lot of things going to hell. No one really trusts her anymore and the trail feels like a mad mob after her.. I mean I know she broke the laws in there pack but she did not do it on prepuce. But no one but her uncle and her father are on her side. Plus her fathers enforcers.
In the mild of the trail a bruin comes to them complaining about there pride cats. But it really is about the starys in the area that have formed there own kinda crazy pride but with all those man eaters and also eating of there own kind.. (ewww) Anyway so her trail is put on hold until the problem is solved.
So Faythe being the hard ass she is. Gets herself into the middle of all the crazy strays and gets her self hurt and is bed ridden for a chapter. After that the book gets more interesting.. The bruin shows up with young tabby think she was Faythe but of course it wasn't her cause she was standing in the room... So all the alphas get excited and put the poor tabby in a guest room with the doc.. (hehe bad idea) So Now everyone is order not to enter the room with out an alpha present.. But an idea was presented to her from the doctor. She is female so maybe the tabby won't attack Faythe if she went in there by her self.. Mark ( her ex or maybe not its like that through out the book their one of those couples that have great break up and make up sex) says no at first but she say's she'll do it anyway and he might as well have her back if she need him but he had to stay out side the door. He agreed only if she had something to protect her self. So she gains the trust of the tabby. Unfortunately The Alphas did not think that was the brightest idea so everyone got in trouble.. The bad thing was the alphas don't like mark that much so they kicked him out of the pride. Of course faythe freaked...
It goes on and on. I hate the system with there laws.. its broken.. She can't really help her self out of there trail they want her to be a good little tabby and get married and pop out lots and lots of toms and one tabby.. Cause that is what they need to make there race survive. So in comes new tabby a 13 year old to replace her.. And if Faythe can't make her self use full to the pride beside being mouth and a pain in the Alphas back sides.
Malone and Blackwell(to alphas that are against her) will take her out of the picture and in to the death sentence.
Malone is out for her the whole book and Blackwell backs him in most of the book as well.
I was very much sucked in I say this book is a 4 out of 5. It got my emotions up and running the whole time. Plus I love the characters that Rachel writes they are all so awesome the bad guys even make me hate them and that's the best thing to me hating the bad guys and wanting the good to prevail over them. I can say I laughed yelled and cried reading this. I know I am so corny but that is me deal with it. Anyway I recommend this series to people who like were things and action and romance cause it has everything I like. So get out there and buy Rachel Vincents Shifter series aka Faythe Sanders series.
