Got this from Iamdyingalone (LJ is being a pain).  I still have a hard time believing that people can actually act like this and still be able to go home and sleep at night.  The whole concept of being "homophobic" or hating gay people sickens so much, mainly because I used to be like that.  What makes it even worse is that it took me questioning Christianity to finally accept these people.  When I was a "nice little Christian boy," I was sure these people were evil and going to hell.  And it was taught to us that is was ok to feel this way because we didn't "hate the person" we "hated the sin."  This sort of anti-gay feeling seems to manifest itself more in the upper-middle class, white, Protestant people than in any other group of people.  The people who are supposed to be the most loving and caring people in the world can hurl words like "faggot" or "dyke" and not think another second about what they are doing.  And it is all justified because these people are "wrong" and "evil" and "sinners."  I am just so sick of prejudice in general, and that goes for racism, homophobics, and generally any other sort of prejudice you can think of it.  People just need to freakin' get over themselves and learn that everybody is different and that is a GREAT thing.  NOONE deserves to be trampled on just because they are different than what we think of as "normal."

Yes, I am aware this was mostly just me ranting/venting.  I figure it  has been too long since you have read a good bit of ansgt from me.  Just keep your minds open and treat everyone with respect.  Remember kiddos, prejudice is the curse of the ignorant.
