She reaches for him, an uncontrollable and overwhelming need to feel his hand in hers. He looks up, a flicker of surprise, a fleeting question in his eyes and, feeling suddenly silly, she tries to pull her hand back.
“Sorry,” her cheeks flush faintly.
He stills her hand, covering it softly with his own, awaiting her answer to his silent question.
“It’s just,” she smiles, avoiding his intense chocolate gaze, “This, your hand, your touch...I missed it. Silly, I know.”
“No, “his thumb strokes slowly across the back of her hand, relief obvious in his smile, “Not silly at all.”
