So I'm back from Philly. I really enjoyed going down there.
The main event of the trip was on saturday, gonig to my cousin Andrea's house to celebrate my Aunt Alana's 60th birthday. Most of my mom's close family was there: Uncle Butch and his wife Bobbi (who me, my mom, and Will stayed with), his daughter Alana, Aunt Linda and my cousins Andrea (and her fiance Andrew), Melissa and her boyfriend, and P.J,, Aunt Alana, my grandfather Poppy, and my mom's cousin Buddy and his wife Ilene. I swam a bit in Andrea's pool with Aunt Alana and Aunt Linda and played wiht Andrea's dog, Lita, a pitbull. Also ate my first hamburger and enjoyed it. We talked alot there and at Uncle Butch's, ranging from family stories to rants about movies, TV, politics, and other crazy things.
Michael Jackson came up in a few conversations that weekend. I mentioned the Murray case when we were hanging out at Butch's on Friday and, once again, my family aren't big MJ fans. Uncle Butch likd Thriller, but still thought he was a molester. So did my cousin P.J. when I mentioned last year sucking with all the deaths. I kept my temper in check both times, but I tried to defend him when I was talking with Uncle Butch.
Hung out at Uncle Butch's house on Friday whne mom and Will went to a Philly's game. Ate 3 soft pretzles down there and went with Butch and bobbi to Barnes and Noble. Since it was the aniversary of MJ's passing, I tried to get some MJ stuff. I bought Moonwalk, the MJ bio and a Far Side collection book. I saw the Full HIStory 2 disk CD, but I didn't have enough money for it. So I bought the two books and Butch and Bobbi let me use their B&N card to get some money off. I read Moonwalk as soon as we got back to their house.
I then that night had my first MJ dream in a long time.
It was a normal dream and Mom and I just came back from shopping somewhere and then we were at this four way crosswalk. I look over across the street and there was Michael. And he was wearing something I think resembled this:
Mom and I went over and he said hi. We talked and I asked for a hug. And he did, he hugged me. It felt so warm, solid, and I could hear his heartbeat. Then I started to cry because I was realizing it was a dream. I pulled away and he asked "What's wrong?". I don't recall what I said, but I think I said "You're wonderful."
He smiled.
And I woke up at 4 in the morning and had so much trouble going back to sleep.
On our way back, we were listening to this New Jersey station and they played some MJ songs for "MIchael Jackson weekend". Heard Got To Be There, Rock With You, Beat It, and Wanna Be Startin' Something before we lost the station. We then listened to my brother's iPhone and we pulled up to our house with The Way You Make Me Feel playing. It's the only MJ song he had on his phone and both he and Mom liked it.
So aside for some little hater stuff from my family, I had fun.
