Part 6 - Two Hearts

June 5th
            London
“LAND!!!!!!!!” Julie screamed, almost stumbling out of the plane, thankful to be on solid ground again.
“Julie, you’re gonna be 22 in September, can you at least try to act it?” Will rolled his eyes, following his sister while carrying his trusty laptop bag over his shoulder.
“Give her a break, Will-O. You know she hates flying.” Melissa snapped, trying to get past the taller man. “Besides, she deserves this vacation after she and Sam finally graduated from college. Plus, we haven’t seen our overseas buddies in months.” Melissa added, finally squeezing past Will.
It had been several months indeed since the trio of girls and their families had seen their fellow English friends. Since then, the girls still kept in regular contact with them, especially Tony and Paul, via e-mail. Just several weeks ago, Julie and Samantha finally graduated from College, the former graduating, to her surprise, on the Dean’s list. Because of this, Janet, Robert, Stephanie, and Martin pooled their money and managed to afford a trip for the girls, plus Julie’s parents, Will, Stephanie, and Christine, to England to visit their friends, and, much to the two girls and Melissa’s delight and surprise, to see the last recording of Have I Got News For You of that season. The adults, Christine, and Will, during the taping, would spend time touring England and the girls would join them on the last few days they would be there to see what they didn’t get a chance to see last time they were there.
“I don’t understand why we have to meet up with those people again? Why can’t we just go off on our own? Most of us are reasonable adults… compared to some.” Christine asked, glaring at Julie and Melissa in question.
“And wander around England without anyone helping us and risk going into a bad part of town with the possibility of getting mugged or worse?” Samantha asked back, glowering at the older girl. Christine just frowned, but didn’t reply.
After all the travellers exited the plane and made their way to baggage claim, they began to look for their friends, who promised to be there when they arrive. They soon found them, waiting near the arrival counter.
“Richard! Lee!” Samantha exclaimed. As soon as she spoke those words, she felt someone run past her at almost Mach 5 towards the two men. “What was that?” she asked, blankly.
“If there were three flashes of light, accompanied by three loud booms, and then two spiralling fire trails, then that was Melissa.” Julie replied, bluntly and deadpan.
“Hold it right there, Melissa, no molesting my boyfriend or my friend.” Josie remarked, grabbing Melissa by the back of her shirt before she could leap onto either of the two men.
“God, I was only just gonna hug them, not molest them!” Melissa pouted childishly, crossing her arms in annoyance. Christine stormed up to her little sister, a look of stern fury on her face.
“Melissa Joanne Anderson, when on Earth are you every going to grow up and stop acting so childish and immature? Don’t you know how embarrassing that is for me and your friends?” Christine snapped angrily at Melissa. Josie released Melissa, who was glaring coldly at her sister.
“Now, now, there was no harm done.” Lee began to state, walking over to the two sisters. Christine just shot the older man a cold look that made him shiver and stop in his tracks.
“And you and your friends just encourage her to act out like this!” Christine stated. Lee just stared at the woman in confusion.
“How exactly am I doing that?” Lee asked, cocking an eyebrow. Christine just glared at him, still retaining the cold look in her eyes.
“Alright, that’s enough, everyone. We’re here to relax, not cause an international incident. So please, check your egos and anger at the door, please.” Will stepped forward; standing between Lee and Christine and praying that there wouldn’t be any further incidents. Christine’s shoulders fell as she visibly began to relax and calm down while Richard and Josie began to escort Lee away from the older blonde.
“Sorry about that, don’t know what’s gotten into her today.” Samantha apologised profusely to Richard, Josie, and Lee.
“Sam, you know that stick up her ass has grown into a giant redwood over the past two years.” Julie sighed, putting a hand on her friend’s shoulder.

Will’s fears would end up coming back when the travellers arrived at Tony and Paul’s. The trio were ecstatic when they got to see Tony, who answered the door when they arrived. Alicia was already there, too, much to Will’s surprise and delight. Robert, Janet, and Stephanie decided to let the kids hang with their friends while they went ahead to get themselves checked in at the hotel.
When Melissa asked where Paul was, the worries she had felt months before returned. Paul was resting, and recuperating from a very nasty scare two weeks ago where he went into false labour after a taping of Have I Got News For You. Thankfully, it didn’t lead to a premature delivery, but Dr. Addy had told Paul to take it easy with the performing, limiting it to only a few select live show performances for the next few weeks leading to the delivery date.
Both Julie and Melissa exchanged looks of fear and concern after hearing this news while Samantha just looked troubled by this revelation.
Then Christine spoke up for the first time since they arrived at the flat.
“How can you be so cool about this? It’s completely disgusting!” Christine exclaimed.
“Excuse me, Chris, what the hell-?” Melissa asked, turning to face her sister.
“This WHOLE thing is disturbing! Men should NEVER have babies!” Christine explained in disgust. The trio, Alicia, and Will stared at the woman in shock. Richard, Lee, and Josie were frowning.
“So what you think Paul and I are doing is a sin?” Tony narrowed his eyes at the older blonde.
“It’s disgusting and immoral! How you could even think this was a good idea is beyond me!” Christine nodded, disturbed.
“Does that include Ryan and Colin, too, Christine?” Samantha asked, annoyed by Christine’s outburst.
“They had no choice in the matter; they were forced into it by an outside force. Paul, however, did as did everyone else who wanted this abomination.” Christine remarked, crossing her arms. Richard was now starting to turn a nice shade of red as Lee and Josie began to restrain him from doing bodily damage to the nurse.
“Christine, stop it!” Julie cried out, seeing her friends growing angry with what she was saying. Christine turned to face the brunette, staring coldly at her.
“I heard you and Melissa talking about Paul on the way over, and I’m not surprised he’s getting weak, and that false labour bit two weeks ago. In fact, if he doesn’t survive, I wouldn’t be surprised. Anyone who goes through that should die!” Christine growled angrily.
There was dead silence after Christine’s cold words were spoken. Everyone stared at her, stunned.
            “W-what?” Tony asked, shocked.
“H-how could you…” Julie whispered, tears forming behind her glasses as she turned and ran out of the room.
“Julie!” Will exclaimed, about to run after his sister, but was stopped by Alicia, who grabbed his shoulder, halting him.
“Chris, what the hell was that for?!” Melissa snapped, pissed at her older sister over her harsh words.
“Just stating the truth, something you’ve forgotten, sis. I’m a nurse; I know what I’m talking about! Ryan and Colin were lucky to have survived. Paul however, I seriously doubt will survive this.” Christine stated, turning away from her sister.
“Maybe…,” Tony began, walking up to the older Anderson sister. Christine turned to face him and her anger soon turn to fear when she saw the fury in Tony’s brown eyes. “But you don’t know anything about Paul. What makes you think you’re right? Some random facts? Bias? Or some sort of hatred you have towards Paul and me? You don’t know Paul at all.” Tony went on. He then turned away to follow Julie. “In fact, do you even know your own sister anymore?” Tony asked, coldly but casually. He then walked off to find the missing girl.
Christine was left standing in the middle of the room, a look of shock on her face. Everyone was still staring at her, shock, anger, and disappointment on their faces.
“I… I don’t know…” Christine whispered, eyes wide in shock, letting the words sink in.
“You should, Christine, you should.” Melissa remarked frigidly.

<<<<<<<>>>>>>>

Julie ran up the stairs, tears rolling down her face. She hated crying in front of her friends and her family. What she hated more was crying in front of Tony, Josie, and their friends as well. But after what Christine said…
How could she say those things about Paul? About Tony? About Ryan, Colin, and their children?!
Julie’s blind run halted when she felt herself run headfirst into someone. Julie nearly fell backwards when she felt hands grab her biceps, stopping her fall. Her eyes shot open, panicking slightly. Had she run into Paul?
            “Are you alright?”
Julie blinked through her tear stained glasses as she stared up at Julian Clary, the one she had bumped into.
            “J-Julian.” Julie whispered.
“Oh, it’s you, Julie, right? What’s the matter?” Julian asked, tilting his head. Julie blushed softly. Julian’s voice always sounded so soothing to her for some reason. Julian frowned, noticing the trails of tears on her face. “Why are you crying?” Julian asked, leaning in close to inspect Julie’s tears.
“It… it was Christine.” Julie replied, furiously wiping away her tears.
“Christine? Which one was she?” Julie frowned, trying to remember who the girl was.
“The older blonde girl who has the rack and the stuck up her arse.” Tony replied, ascending the stairs to join the two. Julie turned to face Tony and relaxed when she saw him.
“Oh yes, the bitchy one from New Years, I remember her. What did she do now?” Julian recalled, then asked. He frowned when he saw the anger in Tony’s eyes. “It was about Paul, wasn’t it?” Julian asked. Tony and Julie nodded.
“She said that what we were doing - having the twins, I mean - was disgusting and that Paul and everyone that are going through this should die.” Tony explained, his voice shaking with suppressed rage. Julian’s eyes widen.
“She what? W-why did she- why does she think that?” Julian asked, walking over to Tony.
“She- she thinks men… men shouldn’t be pregnant. Th-that it’s immoral a-and Paul… she said that Paul was gonna die.” Julie answered, holding herself as she leaned against the nearest wall, looking down while fighting tears. Julian looked at the lone girl.
“She actually said all that?” Julian questioned, not wanting to believe what he heard. How could someone say all that?
“I was there, Julian. Damn, I knew we’d have to deal with people against this thing, but Melissa’s own bloody sister of all people?” Tony told Julian, starting to shake in anger.
“She’s been like this since her and ‘Lissa’s mom died. Always super serious, except when she flirts with the good looking guys. It’s been a lot worse since Lennie told them he’s got MS. Since then, she’s been a serious killjoy, being very serious and stoic about everything.” Julie explained, managing to calm herself down for the moment. She was correct, though. A few months after Tony and Paul’s wedding, Lennie had to be brought to the hospital due to an on-job injury chasing a fleeing suspect. There, he told Christine about the MS, and she freaked out about it, eventually shunning her father and almost entirely ignoring Melissa except for updates and trips to see their fellow Whose Line friends.
“You think we should tell Paul about this?” Tony wondered.
“Well, if Christine’s still downstairs and hasn’t been thrown out yet when he’s up, she’s probably going to be on his arse about this.” Julian frowned at that thought.
“Hopefully, he’ll just be pissed off at her.” Julie sighed, rubbing her eyes to get rid of all the tears she shed.
“I’ll go check on him. You two wait here.” Tony announced, walking past the two on his way to where Paul was sleeping. Julian nodded, then turned to face Julie, who was now walking over to him.
“You ok, now?” Julian asked Julie. She nodded slowly. “Good. And you’re going to the taping tomorrow, correct?” Julian added.
“Yeah, with Alicia, Melissa, and Sam.” Julie nodded.
“Good. Look, Julie, I want you and the girls to keep an eye on Paul during the taping tomorrow. I’ve got a bad feeling that something bad is going to happen and soon.” Julian asked. Julie looked a bit worried by his request, but still nodded.
“I’ll do my best.” Julie promised, crossing her heart with her right hand.
“Good. Now to fix up that make-up of yours, you look like a mess.” Julian smiled. Julie blinked in surprise, then blushed in embarrassment.

Meanwhile…
Tony silently entered his and Paul’s room, doing his best not to disturb the other occupant of the room. He couldn’t help but smile when he saw the other person in the room, curled up on the bed with a slight smile on his face. Tony made his way over to the bed and sat down behind the person. He then leaned in and gently kissed the person on the cheek, pulling back with a smile on his face.
“Mm, ‘at isit?” a soft murmur came from the sleeping person.
“Time to wake up, Paul.” Tony whispered into Paul’s ear. Paul’s eyelids fluttered open. He then turned slightly to look up at Tony, a tired smile on his face.
            “Hello.” Paul greeted.
“Hello, sleepyhead, still tired?” Tony smiled, leaning in so the tips of their noses touched.
“A little, but I never tire of waking up to you.” Paul replied, pulling Tony closer for a gentle kiss on the lips. After releasing Tony, Paul then began to push himself up slowly until he was sitting up against the pillows. “Everyone here?” Paul asked, running his hands over his face, trying to get fully awake.
“Yes, and already we’ve got a problem.” Tony nodded grimly. Paul let out a groan, not liking that news.
“Great, what did Melissa do now?” Paul asked in annoyance.
“Actually, it’s Christine who’s causing the trouble this time, love.” Tony replied. Paul looked at Tony in surprise, one of his hands now resting on his quite large stomach.
“Christine? Melissa’s sister? What’d she do?” Paul asked, both curious and a bit worried. Tony reached over and touched Paul’s hand, the one resting against his stomach.
“She said… she said that ‘this’ - the pregnancy - is immoral. Plus, she said that anyone who is going through this willingly that is male should…,” Tony sighed sadly before going on. “…should die… especially since she knows how tired you’ve been.” Tony continued, gripping Paul’s hand in his. Paul stared at Tony in silence, letting this new sink in.
“She… really said all that?” Paul asked, troubled by this.
“The bitch claimed that, since she’s a nurse, she knows what she’s talking about. She really thinks you won’t be able to survive this since Ryan and Colin almost didn’t.” Tony answered, growing angry once more.
“She doesn’t know that! No one knows that. What makes her think she’s right?” Paul snapped, growing agitated as his free hand began to tightly grip the blankets. Tony started to calm down when he saw the anger that was rising in his partner. He raised his hand from over Paul’s hand and gently brushed his fingers against Paul’s cheek until his hand cupped the side of his face.
“Paul, the kid thinks there are reasons for Christine being this bitchy. One of them being the fact she’s a bit messed up from losing her mum. Another being this is how she’s coping with Lennie having…” Tony started to trail off, wondering if he should tell Paul about Lennie’s condition. He remembered Josie telling him about how Paul was upset when he learned that Jim had MS, now to learn that one of the guys that helped them save their friends has the same thing…
“Has what?” Paul asked, noticing the troubling look on Tony’s face.
“He’s got MS. He’s had it for a while, but didn’t tell Christine until a while ago.” Julie answered, emerging shyly from the doorway. Tony turned to face the girl, releasing his hold on Paul, while Paul looked up in surprise. Julie blushed and shyly hid behind Julian, who was also by the doorway.
“What’re you doing, kid?” Tony asked intriguingly and quite bemused by the girl’s sudden case of terminal shyness.
“Making herself invisible.” Julian sighed, reached behind, and casually nudged the young woman from behind, making Julie stand in front of him. Julian had done what he had said and helped Julie clean up; fixed her make-up and now she looked better and much prettier than before. He then gave another nudge, making her step forward towards Paul and Tony.
“Hi, Julie. Giving Julian a hard time?” Paul smiled
“Not really, just had to help her fix herself up. Poor kid looked like a wreck after what that Christine girl said.” Julian replied in the girl’s place. Julie looked down as she walked over to the couple.
“Aw, damnit, Julie, I’m ok. Christine doesn’t-.” Paul groaned.
“You’re bedridden.” Julie noted softly, still not looking up.
“I was taking a nap, something I’ve been doing for a while since the twins have been keeping me up lately.” Paul explained. Julie finally looked up at him, still looking worried. “Look, I know I had a scare a few weeks ago, but I’m fine now.” Paul sighed, leaning forward. Julie moved closer before stopping next to Tony.
“You sure?” Julie was still unconvinced and worried.
“You worry too much.” Paul shook his head in exasperation.
“I just don’t want you to… to prove Christine right.” Julie cried out, then finished softly.
“I’m not going to die from this!” Paul remarked, nearly laughing.
“You don’t know that!!” Julie exclaimed, tears in her eyes.
“Neither do you or Christine.” Tony noted. Julie stared at him, a tear falling down her face.
“They’re right, you know. Christine may think she knows what she’s talking about, but there are several things she doesn’t take into account.” Julian added, walking over.
“Especially since she doesn’t know me as well as you, Samantha, or Melissa does, so cheer up and stop worrying so much. It’s really bringing me down.” Paul remarked, reaching over and taking Julie’s hand into his own. Julie smiled at Paul’s words, then broke his hand hold and hugged him, taking him by surprise. Paul looked startled at first, but then sighed with a smile on his face, hugging the girl in return.
“Alright, that’s enough. You alright, now?” Paul said, rubbing Julie’s back after almost a minute. Julie nodded, then pulled back, blushing softly.
            “Y-yeah, I’m sorry.” Julie apologised.
“And I thought I was supposed to be the emotional one here.” Paul joked, making Julie giggle.
“Well, I think we need to have a long talk with a certain blonde downstairs, hm?” Tony remarked.
“Oh I wouldn’t mind having a nice, long chat with this Christine girl.” Julian agreed coldly while cracking his knuckles.
“As long as I get first crack at her. After all, it’s me she’s been bitching about the most.” Paul noted. Julie threw Paul a worried glance.
“Are you sure it’s a good idea for you-?” Julie began to ask.
“I don’t usually get very pissed at anyone who talks bad about me, but when someone says I should die just for a choice I make, well… screw the rules, time to get even.” Paul admitted honestly.
“If you don’t mind, I’ll bring Julie down first; you two don’t dawdle now and don’t do anything kinky.” Julian announced, putting a hand on Julie’s shoulder. Tony shot Julian an insulted look.
“Julian, I would never take advantage of Paul in the state he’s in, especially when there are people downstairs who could listen in on us!” Tony gasped in mock dramatics.
“Ok you two, too much info.” Julie cut in, raising her hands up in surrender with a grimace on her face.
“Yes, we don’t want your dear mind to get warped by the three of us.” Julian rolled his eyes.
“Your parents are probably worried about you, anyway, kid. With you running away the way you did.” Tony noted.
“Probably more worried about her being alone with us three.” Paul interjected with a smirk.
“Why would they?” Julian asked innocently.
“We’re three grown adults with their twenty one year old daughter in a bedroom, Julian. I’d be worried if she was my daughter.” Paul explained. Julie then started to giggle. The three men stared at her in surprise and confusion, mostly over her sudden change of emotion.
“I don’t think they’re worried about that, Paul. Dad and mom know your wouldn’t try anything on me.” Julie said after her giggle fit.
“Really?” Tony raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
“Yeah. Julian prefers men, Paul’s knocked up, and you’re Paul’s partner, Tony. I’m perfectly safe.” Julie nodded, pointing to each men in turn. She then got up, smiling, and then turned and left, humming a random song to herself, leaving the three men alone, floored by her bluntness.
Julian was the first to speak as soon as Julie left. “I don’t know why, but with the way she said all that, I could’ve sworn she was your’s and Tony’s daughter, Paul.” Julian remarked, pointing at Paul as he spoke. He then left, following the young woman that had just left.
“The kid as our kid? Now that is a scary thought.” Paul chuckled.
“It’d explain her fondness and over protectiveness over the two of us.” Tony theorized, helping Paul out of bed.
“It might.” Paul agreed with a smile.

<<<<<<<>>>>>>>

A few minutes later…
            “No, you don’t get it!”
            “Why won’t you let her-?”
            “Its not gonna happen.”
            “Stop it, will you?”
“I’m telling you; that’s what going to happen!”
“God, how long has this been going on?”
“Anyone got a taser or something?”
“Where’s a referee when you need one?”
This was most of what Tony and Paul heard as they entered the living room to join their friends. Christine was venting and ranting, Robert, Janet, and Stephanie had yet to return, Will was trying to restrain Alicia, Melissa and Samantha were annoyed and trying to reason with Christine, Richard look ready to hurt someone, Lee was trying to find something hard to drink, and Josie had a look of murder on her face. Julian and Julie were watching from a distance, clearly having just come downstairs during the second act of this calamity.
“What’s going on?” Paul asked his two friends.
“Christine’s at it again. This time, she started yelling at Richard and Josie for their involvement in this. Then Alicia told her to knock it off and Christine’s going at it with her AND Will.” Julie explained with a moan, massaging her temples with her fingers.
“Why’s Will getting-?” Tony began to ask, and then stopped. He let out a soft ‘Oh’ in realization. “Ah, sticking up for his girlfriend, huh?” Tony smirked.
“Oh yeah, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to never piss off-.” Julie nodded.
            *SMACK!*
“Was that Will?” Julie gasped, looking around in a panic.
“No, someone else.” Julian replied, pointing at the scene before them. Paul, Tony, and Julie looked over and were surprised when they saw who the slapper was. It was the younger Anderson sibling who had slapped her sibling hard across the face. Christine raised a hand to her cheek, staring coldly and angrily at her sister.
“What the hell was that for?!” Christine snapped.
“I’m sick of your attitude, sis, and your anger and your bitchiness.  Why the hell are you acting like such a bigot?” Melissa asked angrily.
“What did you say?” Christine hissed.
“Why do you hate Tony, Paul, and the fact they’re having twins so much?   Why are Tony and Paul ‘freaks’? In fact, why are me, Sam, and Julie freaks, too? What, is it because Tony and Paul are gay? I didn’t see you bitching about Ryan and Colin getting hitched last year. And does that make me, Sam, and Julie freaks, too, for being their friends? So they’re older guys, but who gives a shit! There are girls out there that think Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Harrison Ford, Michael Jackson, David Bowie, and Paul McCartney are hot!” Melissa went on, pointing at herself and her friends as she spoke.
“Is that true?” Paul asked, turning to Julie.
“Yes, scary enough, there are people like that. You should see the Alan Rickman love… and the Michael Jackson stuff she looks at.” Julie nodded, replying softly, then grimaced slightly at some of the memories of finding the weird showings of love she stumbled onto on the net.
“Oh, wait, I know why your being a super bitch. It’s because Paul’s preggers, right? Why this is bothering you so damn much-.” Melissa spat.
“Because I never had the chance to say anything about it until now. This whole thing is disgusting!” Christine shot back.
“Maybe it is, but this is not your decision to make in who should have the operation or not. It’s the one who want to have it that makes the decision.” Richard noted, speaking out for the first time since Melissa slapped her sister.
“Doesn’t he even know the risks?” Christine asked in exasperation.
“We already knew what the risks were even before Tony and I agreed to this.” Paul snapped, finally speaking out. Christine spun around to see Paul, now making his way over towards her, Tony following him. “But do you know one of the reasons why we’re even doing this? It’s because I…,” Paul stopped, then looked down. Tony soon was standing next to Paul, worry in his eyes. Paul waved him away, whispering “I’m alright, Tony.” Then he began to speak again. “It’s because I wanted a child when I was with Sarah.” Paul spoke, his voice wavering slightly. Richard, Josie, Julian, and Lee exchanged looks of concern; they knew how much of a tender subject Sarah was.
“Sarah?” Christine asked. Unlike her sister, she didn’t know about Paul’s past relationships, and, unfortunately, included what happened to Sarah.
“She was my wife, second actually… She died a few years ago. Breast Cancer.” Paul answered, his voice growing soft, looking back down in remembrance.
“Oh my lord…” Christine whispered, covering her mouth in genuine shock. She had no clue about Sarah or her illness.
“I know you and Melissa lost your mum a few years back, too. And the kid told me about Lennie having MS. It hurts to lose someone you love and watch another suffer from that same illness.” Paul went on after taking a moment to calm himself down.
“Who?” Christine asked, still affected by what she heard about Sarah.
“Our friend Jim Sweeny has had MS for a good couple of years. We know how much pain it causes not just to the person affected, but to their loved ones.” Lee explained, walking over to Paul and Tony.
“Don’t you understand why dad didn’t want you to know? When mom died, you freaked and shut me and dad out of your life until two years ago when that whole Lolita shit happened.” Melissa spoke up, having controlled her anger for the moment. Paul shuddered in remembrance, still not completely over that incident. “Dad told me about his MS before you, a few weeks before we went to Ryan and Colin’s wedding. He’s had it for a few years, discovered it several months after mom died. I know he kept it from us for all this time, especially you, because he didn’t want us to freak out more, especially so soon after we lost mom. And I know it hurts, but that doesn’t mean you can take your anger out on everyone, especially Paul and Tony, who are about to become parents for the first time.” Melissa went on, speaking calmly but sternly.
“So, really, Chris, how are we freaks?” Samantha asked, crossing her arms.  Christine was still silent, trying to digest everything that had been said, a look of uncertainty on her face.
“I… it still… I don’t…” Christine managed to let out.
“You know what, I don’t really give a shit what you think right now, but I am still quite pissed at you for pissing off my friends and making Julie cry. Now we’re trying to have fun, so maybe for the next couple of hours, do you mind not being such a bigoted bitch to me, my husband, and my friends?” Paul snapped, having enough and growing quite pissed off, now getting in Christine’s face. Christine paled drastically, then fell to her knees in a daze.
“Whoa, did NOT expect that.” Julie remarked in surprise. Melissa knelt down next to her sister and waved a hand in front of her face.
“I think she fainted.” Melissa stated, also surprised. She then looked up at Paul. “I think we might’ve broke her.” She commented.
“Ah, she deserved that tongue lashing, after what she said.” Richard glared at the nurse.
“Richard, that’s Melissa’s sister, too.” Josie reminded, slapping his arm.
“That’s alright, Josie. She deserved to be taken down a notch, especially what she said about Paul.” Melissa said, standing up while pulling her shell-shocked sister to her feet. She then turned back to Paul and Tony. “I am soooo sorry that Chris said all that stuff about you guys and the babies. If I had any idea she’d go on a rant like that, I wouldn’t have-.” Melissa began to apologize.
“Oi, don’t you dare apologize about your sister. It’s not your fault she’s related to you and that she decided to bitch about us.” Tony cut Melissa off.
“Yeah, it’s just bad luck that she picked tonight to do this.” Samantha agreed.
“At least we got her to shut up.” Richard commented, still glaring at Christine.
“But what do we do with her?” Josie wondered.
“How about we tie her up and gag her and throw her on the couch?” Julie grinned evilly.
“Cruel, but interesting, we’ll take that into consideration.” Julian said, nodding in interest.
“What do you think, Alic- oh blimmey.” Josie began to ask, but stopped in amazement.
“What is it?” Richard asked his girlfriend.
“Look at what happened while Christine was bitching.” Josie pointed. Everyone turned to see what she had seen.
Will and Alicia were in the corner of the room, locked in a romantic embrace, kissing each other, completely oblivious to everyone around them.
“Well ring the bells, pour the wine and shoot the neighbours, look at them!” Melissa exclaimed, smiling and laughing in approval. Julie reached into her purse, which she had reacquired during the Christine tongue lashing, and pulled out her small digital camera, which she used to snap a quick picture for blackmail and memory purposes.
“It’s about time.” Julie smiled, lowering her camera.
“Now THAT is a turnaround of events.” Lee remarked in bemusement.
“Never a dull moment with you guys.” Samantha shook her head, smiling. Soon, Will and Alicia pulled away to catch their breath, their cheeks red and the chests rising and falling with each breath they took.
It took them a few seconds to realize that everyone was staring at them. Lee and Julian were bemused, Melissa had a shit eating grin on her face, Richard, Josie, and Samantha were smiling, and Tony, Paul, and Julie had proud but smug smiles on their faces.
“Right… not what I had in mind when I wanted everyone to know about this…” Will finally spoke, embarrassed. He then glared at Julie when he noticed the camera in her hands. “You better not have taken a photo of us, Julie.” Will warned.
“Hey, you tease me when I’m with Luke, it sucks when the shoe’s on the other foot, huh?” Julie stated proudly.
“Paul, are you-?” Alicia began to ask, then stopped when she saw the still fainted Christine. “Oi, what happened to her?” Alicia asked, referring to the older blonde.
“Long story short, Paul and Melissa broke her good.” Julie answered, pocketing the camera back into her purse. Alicia couldn’t help but snicker while Will shook his head.
“I won’t ask how, but all I have to say is: finally someone found a way to shut her up.” Will smiled, then laughed broadly.
