I actually did research on this. *faceplants* Without his balls, Jim would lose his desire for sex. A castrated male will gain some weight on the hips, get tender around the nipples and breasts, and the penis will atrophy

Well, maybe Jim realizes that he's really feeling a lot better and relaxed without his balls, and starts just cherishing his everyday life a lot more.

I did a quick wiki when I read this to see what exactly castration would entail, and one part said it was possible the patient's moods/behaviors would be otherwise altered as well- they could have a "serene" outlook, but also could become depressed as well. Seeing as this was done to Kirk against his will, I would lean towards it being more likely he'd be negatively affected... And I definitely agree he'd *never* be able to trust Kirk or Spock again. He'd either have to resign, or transfer them to another ship. I Kind of want them both to see how badly they messed up and how Jim is not Jim anymore or something... I love angst too much... I think this would be a good no happy ending fic.
