Epic Poetry: Broken Butterfly

May 21, 2013 10:52

Broken butterfly with petals for wings Delicately designed with fragmented dreams Shattered by pain, were your wings torn and frayed?
Trying to fly away from this anguished place. Its so hard to cry, my broken butterfly, when numbness takes your place
Once your beauty is erased by these scars that refuse to fade
Bleeding out your colours as you try in vain, to find someone to love you again
When everything hurts how do you breathe?
Time escapes as you waste away
Clutching onto an identity that breaks
Crystalised tears become an empty grey, as your pushed away
Rejected by another plastic stare that wont feel your despair
Broken butterfly I caress your wing and mourn the destruction of pure things
When everyone takes and stability is erased Life dangles on a thin chain that sways, smashing us into a wall of hate and rage Broken butterfly, I feel so afraid.
