cm_eraser Kyuhyun ran into Sungmin, the heavy backpack he had carried for hours was rocking unsteadily on his back and the luggage was left by him on the beautifully tiled floor. He hugged Sungmin tightly as he was able to reach Sungmin with his hand, one of his arms was hugging Sungmin by the neck and the other one was wrapped securely around his waist.
Sungmin placed his head into the crook of Kyuhyun’s neck, he breathed in the scent he was sure he wouldn’t able to forget. He wrapped both of his arms around Kyuhyun. Both of them were having a hard time to breathe, but none of them seemed to care that much.
“You came,” Kyuhyun whispered softly to Sungmin, warm breath tickling his ear. “I’ll miss you,” he said as his hand moved to stroke lightly at Sungmin’s hair. “I’ll miss you,” he repeated.
Sungmin buried his face deeper into Kyuhyun’s neck. He hugged Kyuhyun tightly and showed no signs of letting Kyuhyun go anytime soon. “I’ll miss you too.”
There was a voice of a woman echoing around the room, informing to all of the passengers who hadn’t checked in to hurry because it was fifteen minutes left before the plane took off.
Kyuhyun reluctantly peeled himself off Sungmin and Sungmin too unwrapped his arms from Kyuhyun’s lean torso. Kyuhyun leaned his head forward and placed a kiss on Sungmin’s forehead followed by a gentle kiss on his lips.
“I guess this is our goodbye,” Kyuhyun said to Sungmin after he was back with his luggage in his hand. “Goodbye,” Kyuhyun pecked Sungmin’s lips for the last time before turning his back to Sungmin, walking away from him with heavy steps.
Sungmin could only see Kyuhyun’s retreating figure in silence as a few tears escaped from his eyes. He turned and started walking in the opposite direction.
He had no idea how much he had hurt Kyuhyun, but he really didn’t want to say his goodbye to him.
He was never going to say goodbye, how long and how far Kyuhyun will left him.
-
The bell rang throughout the whole school, the disturbing shrill sound of it woke Kyuhyun up from his sleep. His eyes snapped open and looked around at his surroundings. Everyone had gone home and he was left alone again in his class. It was always like that ever since he started to go to the new school. He was always tired because he stayed up late playing his games until dawn.
He was just stuffing his books in his bag messily when a tap on his shoulder made him jump in shock. He turned and was faced with a grinning man in front of him.
“You should go home now. The front gate is going to close,” the man informed him calmly. “You’re the new boy here, right?”
“Yes, and why are you still here, then? Aren’t you supposed to be going home too?” Kyuhyun asked back. He was not feeling very happy to be ordered by a smaller guy. And this shortie in front of him had just called him a boy.
“Kid, where’s your respect to your teacher? Of course I am still here. I need to check if the students are still here or if all of them had went home. Or do you want to spend a night here?” the person who had just introduced himself as Kyuhyun’s teacher sat on the chair across his table. “A few months ago, there was this girl-“
Kyuhyun paid no attention to the teacher in front of him who was story-telling about something he didn’t want to know. He continued stuffing his things into his bag and he played a song in his head to distract himself from the still babbling teacher in front of him. This teacher was way too talkive for his liking. And who the hell even asked him to tell this story about a girl.
“-she went home and-hey! You’re done with your things?” the teacher immediately stood up as he noticed Kyuhyun had already flinged his bag onto his shoulder.
“Yes,” Kyuhyun answered briefly and started making his way to the door of his classroom.
“Do you want me-“
“Goodbye, teacher, I’m going home. Good luck in finding some other students that are still here,” Kyuhyun impolitely cut him off and walked briskly out of the school.
He breathed the fresh evening air as he walked down the streets to his house. He knew he was too rude just now but he believed what he did was right. He needed to get out of that teacher’s sight to stop him from talking. He didn’t really wish to spend the night in the school because the teacher couldn’t stop talking.
He breathed in deeply before he started to jog along the side ways. He didn’t like morning exercise that much and he thinks that Physical Education-gym classes-in school is boring, so this was the only way to keep his body fit.
-
“Hey, Kyuhyun!”
Kyuhyun stopped walking and looked at his back. The person who was calling his name before was running in his direction. He kept walking, though, ignoring the calls of his name.
“Hey!” the person smacked his arm lightly by the time he reached Kyuhyun. He inhaled the air deeply as if it was his first time breathing in the fresh air. “Why didn’t you wait for me!” he cried.
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes at him. “Ryeowook, you’re just walking too slowly.”
“I was running!” Ryeowook said, emphasizing on the word running.
“Yeah, sure, whatever,” Kyuhyun turned sharply to the new voice which was joining in his conversation with Ryeowook. Yesung grinned widely at him before he walked to Ryeowook’s side. “Good morning, cupcake,” Yesung kissed Ryeowook’s cheek lovingly.
“What the heck. What is this!” Kyuhyun stopped walking suddenly. Both Yesung and Ryeowook halted and turned to look at Kyuhyun. “You two go walk by yourselves. I don’t even know why am I walking with two sick people like you.”
“Go find yourself a boyfriend, boy,” Yesung simply says before pulling Ryeowook with him. “And you will know what are you calling sick people are!” he shouted, his back facing Kyuhyun.
“Yeah, whatever!” Kyuhyun shouted back. He walked grumpily behind Yesung and Ryeowook, looking at the ceramic tiles under his feet with mild interest. However, he decided to go to the toilet before going to class.
That morning wasn’t really the morning he wanted because one, he was watching two sick people PDA-ing in front of his eyes and two, this teacher who was bothering him a few days ago was in front of the toilet, gaze focused on the phone in his hand.
Kyuhyun tried really hard to make his presence unknown by the teacher but that was kind of impossible since he was standing right beside the door to the toilet.
“Hi!” the teacher greeted cheerfully as he saw Kyuhyun walking towards the toilet. Kyuhyun just smiled at him. “Do you need help? I’ll bring your bag. You can’t really do anything inside there if your bag is with you, unless if you just want to style your hair. But since you seem like your in a hurry, I don’t think you just wanted to style your hair. Besides, your hair looks-“
“Okay, here. Thanks,” Kyuhyun shoved his bag to the teacher and walked briskly into the toilet. The teacher was pissing him off.
By the time he went out of the toilet, the teacher was no longer there and his bag wasn’t there too. Sure, he had heard the bell rang a while ago but couldn’t the teacher wait for him until he was finished? He was the one who offered to carry his bag when he was about to go to the toilet.
He was thinking to go to the teachers’ office, but then decided not to. He had nothing important in his bag anyway, so if the teacher had lost his bag or if he forgot to return it to him, he wouldn’t be that sad.
-
It was two days later when Kyuhyun met the teacher again. So, the new teacher was teaching Physical Education.
“Okay everyone, good morning, I’m Lee Sungmin, your new gym teacher,” Sungmin greeted the class cheerfully. “Today, we’ll be playing basketball!” he announced to the class.
There were cheers from the boys and sounds of dissapointment from the girls.
“Can’t we just stay in class instead?” one of the girls asked.
“Sure!” Sungmin smiled widely. There were cheers from the girls. “But,” Sungmin said and the cheers suddenly stopped. “Be ready to get an E. Let’s go, boys!”
All of the boys went to the basketball court and played basketball. Some of the girls took the unused ball and chest-passed it to each other. They were all playing despite the complains and grumbles Sungmin heard in the class awhile ago.
Sungmin watched as one of his students dribbled the ball across the court and the rival team, trying hard to block his way. There was a sudden tap on his shoulder which caused him to jump. “What-”
“Revenge for the last time, teacher. Where’s my bag?” Kyuhyun asked.
Sungmin scratched the back of his head as he smiled apologetically at him. “I’m sorry, I forgot to return your bag. Err, I’ll go take it, you stay here,” Sungmin made a movement to stand up but Kyuhyun’s hand on his wrist made him lose his balance and fell onto the ground.
“No, let me take it. Where is it?”
“But-“
“You should supervise your students, I will take it,” Kyuhyun insisted. “Where?”
Sungmin raised his hands in defeat. “Okay, okay. There, inside my locker in the locker room.”
Kyuhyun left Sungmin saying nothing else and went to the locker room to retrieve his bag. He was shocked to see something inside of Sungmin’s locker after he had took out his bag from it. He took the suspicious thing out and eyed it warily. He felt like he had seen it before but he forgot where.
“Kyuhyun wait-oh god!” Sungmin cried and took the thing from Kyuhyun’s hand, but Kyuhyun’s grip on it was strong, not like the one he had expected. They ended up pulling the thing like tug-o-war competition. “Give that back!”
“What is this?” Kyuhyun forcefully pulled the thing and Sungmin fell forward as the sudden sheer force of the pulling made him lose his balance. Sungmin ended up bumping his body against Kyuhyun and Kyuhyun stumbled backwards, pressed against the wall with Sungmin’s body in front of him, still trying to grab the thing in Kyuhyun’s hand which was now held up so high that Sungmin couldn’t reach it.
“God, you’re a boy. Aren’t you supposed to know what that is?” Sungmin stopped reaching for the thing in Kyuhyun’s hand and tentatively stepped back, making room for them to breathe.
Kyuhyun brought his hand down and touch the thing experimentaly in front of his nose. “Is this...” Kyuhyun trailed off, unsure of what to said next. If his guessing was wrong, it’d be embarrassing.
“Yes, it is condom. Now shut up and give the thing back,” Sungmin snatched the thing easily from Kyuhyun and threw it carelessly into his locker before slamming the door shut. He thumped hardly against the ceramic tiles and made his way out of the locker room, leaving an amused Kyuhyun alone.
Kyuhyun grinned widely. It’d be fun, being taught by a teacher who was caught bringing a condom to school. Why would he need that kind of thing in the school, anyway?
-
“I don’t know what’s wrong with you and you want, but can’t you show some respect to your teacher? We’re not classmates, Kyuhyun. You should know how to respect your teacher more than you respect your classmates and you shouldn’t treat me the same way you treat your classmates. What’s wrong with you, seriously, what’s wrong?”
“How old are you, really?” Kyuhyun asked him back. The chilly wind was ruffling his hair and a few droplets of rain landed on his tired face. They were currently sitting next to each other in a bus stop and it was raining. That was the reason why Kyuhyun didn’t jog home like usual. Sungmin had been attempting to talk to Kyuhyun but Kyuhyun seemed to not hear what Sungmin was saying.
“I am twenty,” Sungmin said, feeling a bit proud declaring his age which he was very sure older than Kyuhyun.
“Oh, I’m eighteen. You’re just two years older than I am. I guess it’s okay to treat you the same way I treat my classmates. If you’re still in school, I’m just your junior. It won’t make any difference since I never treat my seniors differently.”
Sungmin clasped his hand and clapped cheerfully beside Kyuhyun, making him looked oddly at Sungmin. He gave Sungmin an are-you-ok look and Sungmin simply beamed at him.
“That was the longest sentence you’ve ever said to me! I always talk more than two sentences and what you gave me was a nod, or you sometimes ignore me,” Sungmin said, giving Kyuhyun a hurt look and he clenched his chest dramatically. “You see, you’re better when you talk a lot. You look a lot more cheerful! You could always talk to me about anything, you know. It makes me feel better and I bet you’re enjoying your time, too. Pour out anything that you want to say, because I know you don’t have any diaries at home. My teacher once said-“
Kyuhyun shook his head a little, thinking that this Sungmin is still too talkative to his liking but this time, he didn’t interrupt Sungmin and he found himself listening to Sungmin’s voice, talking about his teacher who taught him about writing something in a diary and that boys shouldn’t have diaries or they were ready to wear skirts.
“-and since then, I no longer have a diary. I threw it away because, helloo, although I have some feminine features, I’m still a man and I’m not ready to wear skirts everywhere. But hey, do you think life is kinda unfair? Girls are allowed to wear pants but when boys wear skirts, it’s one hundred percent suspected that he’s a transvestites. Not that I want to wear skirts, though.”
They spent hours talking (mostly Kyuhyun listening to Sungmin talk about everything the elder knew) and the rain didn’t seem like it was going to stop anytime soon. Many people had came and go as time passed, and they were still the only ones left at the bus stop since hours ago.
“Oh, there is my bus! I better get going. Goodnight, Kyuhyun. It’s nice talking to you,” Sungmin smiled to Kyuhyun and jumped into the bus.
“Bye!” Kyuhyun stood up and waved his hand at Sungmin’s direction. He felt stupid for waving his hand like that, it’s not that Sungmin will be going somewhere across the globe.
That night, Kyuhyun learnt that Sungmin was still studying in a university, majoring in musical theatre. He was just teaching in Kyuhyun’s school to gain more money for his living expenses because his parents could only afford his studies.
Kyuhyun also learnt not to talk to Sungmin on days when he was waiting for a bus because he had missed his bus and it was already nine pm. The rain had turned into a drizzle and Kyuhyun ran all the way back to his house. He waited for hours at the bus stop for nothing, but he doesn’t mind.
Because talking to Sungmin refreshed his mind and when he arrives at home, he would take off his shoes, place it neatly on the shoe rack before running to his room and take a bath. He then opened his textbook and began doing his homework instead of turning on his computer and pwning all those asses in Starcraft.
Talking with Sungmin wasn’t really a bad idea, after all.
-
As days passed by, Kyuhyun was starting to grow closer to Sungmin and he now felt that Sungmin wasn’t that talkative anymore which was a lie, because Sungmin was still talkative as ever. He just found it less annoying and he knew he was always enjoying himself everytime Sungmin talked. Sungmin’s voice was too soothing to not to be liked. He was still cheerful and there was always this glint in his eyes everytime he talked that attracts Kyuhyun.
That was why Kyuhyun found it weird when Sungmin was quiet the evening they sat at the same bus stop, waiting for their respective buses to come. Kyuhyun had been waiting for the bus with Sungmin ever since he knew Sungmin would go home by bus. He no longer jogged home and he started to like Physical Education lessons in school.
“-yeah, and then Ryeowook came to me like, hey, I didn’t ask you to tell my feelings to Yesung, and then he-Sungmin, are you okay?” it was a habit of Kyuhyun to call Sungmin by his name outside school area and he stopped chattering as he saw Sungmin spacing out. He didn’t know why, but he felt a little hurt. So that was the feeling Sungmin always felt everytime he ignored him when he was talking, Kyuhyun thought to himself.
Kyuhyun tapped on Sungmin’s shoulder, making the elder jumped in shock. “Umm, sorry, what did you say just now?”
Kyuhyun simply smiled and shook his head. “Never mind. Are you okay? You don’t seem like usual. What’s wrong? Is there something bad happening to you?” he asked with much concern.
Sungmin offered a small smile and shrug his shoulder lightly. “There are.. things,” Sungmin started. “That people wish and it didn’t come true as what they wished earlier,” he continued, with much uncertainty in his voice. “But we should appreciate what we get, right?”
Kyuhyun stared at Sungmin, unsure of what to say because he didn’t quite get what Sungmin was saying. What is wrong with him, this Sungmin in front of him seemed like another Sungmin he was unfamiliar with.
“Are you really, really okay?”
“Do I seem like I’m okay?” Sungmin said. There was a distant light from the end of the road which indicated that a vehicle is coming to the bus stop. “There is my bus. Goodnight, Kyuhyun. See you tomorrow.”
Kyuhyun stood up and caught Sungmin’s wrist, forcefully pulling Sungmin towards him just before Sungmin entered the bus and fell back to him. He hugged Sungmin and somehow managed to get Sungmin’s head rest comfortably in his neck. It was awkward and the door of the bus was still open for Sungmin, the driver watching them hug intently as if it was a movie playing before his eyes. The rest of the occupants of the bus followed what the bus driver was doing. Kyuhyun realized, but he didn't care.
“You can always tell me everything,” Kyuhyun whispered to him. Sungmin looked up at him and stared straight into Kyuhyun’s eyes, he then smiled. “So when will I get to hear the whole story?” he asked.
“As soon as possible,” Sungmin said in a form of whisper too. “I should go now, the driver is waiting for me.”
Before Sungmin could walk away from Kyuhyun, he felt Kyuhyun’s lips on his forehead and he could see Kyuhyun’s neck before his eyes. He closed his eyes and opened it as Kyuhyun finally detached his lips from Sungmin’s forehead.
“Goodnight.”
The bus driver smiled at Sungmin-a meaningful smile-as Sungmin entered the bus. The driver then gave Kyuhyun a thumbs up and Kyuhyun grinned back at him.
He could be an actor someday.

Park Jungsu sat calmly in his big, elegant chair as he stared hard at the figure in front of him. The room was air-conditioned but it seemed like the temperature inside had rised a few degrees and the air seemed tense.
Sungmin fidgeted uncomfortably in the chair across from Jungsu. He tried to not to look at Jungsu in the eyes but it was hard because Jungsu was staring at him, as if he wanted to burn holes in Sungmin’s forehead.
There was no words exchanged but Sungmin was well aware of the fact that he had done something wrong. What other reasons were there for him to be called to the principal’s office if he hadn’t done anything wrong? He might have accidentally killed a student who had an asthma attack when he forced them to run around the basketball court or he could have-
“Sungmin-ssi, you know you had done something wrong, right?” Jungsu said, interrupting Sungmin’s train of thought. “You know the rules, right?”
Sungmin nodded uncertainly. He didn’t understand what Jungsu was talking about.
“You did not, Sungmin-ssi. You know you’re not allowed to date the students here,” Jungsu said sternly. That smily-face principal was scary in certain circumstances, Sungmin admitted.
“But I don’t date the students here,” Sungmin protected himself. Sure, he was close to all of his students and might be a little bit to close to Kyuhyun but that didn’t mean he’s dating Kyuhyun.
“Some students caught you and Kyuhyun in the bus stop hugging and kissing-“ kissing my forehead “-and they provide me proofs. There are some of them who also said that you’re always with him everytime you wait for your bus at the bus stop,” Jungsu said. “Just the two of you,” he added as an afterthought.
“It’s nothing. It’s just a normal friendship because Kyuhyun is a friend of another friend of mine,” Sungmin decided to lie. It was the best choice he could do to ensure that he wasn’t going to be kicked out of the school. He really needed this job.
“Okay,” Jungsu finally said and Sungmin sighed in relief. “But make sure you don’t publicly show your affection towards Kyuhyun anywhere near and around the school or else, you know what will I do to you. I believe you but it’d create an issue between the students and I don’t want that to happen in this school. Understood?”
“Understood.”
“You can leave.”
-
Sungmin walked clumsily in the school corridor and he bumped to different people, causing him to say ‘sorry’ every one minute or so. He walked to his locker and took out his bag, ready to leave the school since it was time for everyone to go home and had resigned from his job to check on the students if they were still in the school before the gate was closed a month ago.
His feet, however, decided to bring him to the toilet before they walked him to the bus stop.
“Do you need help? I’ll carry your bag because you don’t seem like the person who go to the toilet just to style your hair,” a familiar voice was heard beside him and he turned his face to his right, finding Kyuhyun leaning casually against the wall. The Kyuhyun who he had successfully ignored for the whole week.
Sungmin was hesitant for a mere second but he finally gave his bag to Kyuhyun before entering the toilet. He went to the sink and washed his face to freshen himself a bit because, hell, being warned by the school principal wasn’t the thing he hoped he’d face within the span of seven months teaching in the school.
For the whole week, he had tried to persuade Choi Siwon, another Physical Education teacher to ride him home because Siwon drove his own car. Siwon was also a university student like he was, but different from him, he came from a rich family and he taught in the school just to fill his boring, free time when he had nothing else to do.
But that morning Siwon had told him that he was sorry, because he couldn’t fetch Sungmin home again. His girlfriend asked him to fetch her after she’s done with her work and of course his girlfriend was still his top priority.
He should find another bus stop since the principal knew he and Kyuhyun always went to the bus stop near the school and there might have been students waiting for them to come and take pictures of them like some sort of paparazzis.
Sungmin went out from the toilet to see nothing. He didn’t see Kyuhyun holding his bag nor did he see the bag itself. He found a note taped onto the wall and judging from the pemanship he didn’t realize he had remembered clearly, it was written by Kyuhyun.
Meet me in the locker room if you want to get your bag back.
Sungmin sighed, he couldn’t do this. He wasn’t allowed to get near Kyuhyun in the school area as what Jungsu had warned him, but he couldn’t go home if he didn’t get his bag back. With heavy steps, he reluctantly walked into the locker room.
Sungmin found his back pressed against the locker room’s door as soon as he entered the room. He could see Kyuhyun’s face just a few centimeters away from his and he could feel Kyuhyun’s warm breaths on his nose and lips.
Kyuhyun had strongly pinned Sungmin’s arms to the either side of his head. It’s not that Sungmin couldn’t break himself free from Kyuhyun’s restrain, but he just didn’t feel like doing it. He was tired and he believed Kyuhyun wouldn’t do anything harm to him.
“Why are you avoiding me?” Kyuhyun asked, eyes never leaving Sungmin’s.
“I did not,” Sungmin defended himself. “Maybe that’s just what you feel,” he decided not to tell the truth to Kyuhyun, for the good of them both.
“Lies,” Kyuhyun said, “Tell me the truth,” he demanded.
“I didn’t avoid you, really. It’s just your feelings.”
“Yes, and that was why I saw you go home with Siwon for this whole week. Why, seriously, why?”
Hearing no response from Sungmin, Kyuhyun nudged his knee in between Sungmin’s legs, making Sungmin gasp at the sudden feeling of something pressing against his crotch and Sungmin had to remember how to breathe properly when Kyuhyun let go of both of his hands and moved them to caress the curve of Sungmin’s back as his lips started to leave trails of kisses along Sungmin’s jaw.
“I-I d-did not-“
“Shut up,” Kyuhyun ordered and Sungmin instantly shut his mouth. “You’re going to tell me the truth or you’re not going to say a word.”
Sungmin did not say anything and it was clear to Kyuhyun that Sungmin was lying and not going to tell him the truth. Sungmin, however, despite his own choice to not say a word, moaned out Kyuhyun’s name when the latter started to move his knee in a circular motion. He then gasped as Kyuhyun slowly traced the pattern of his zipper with his index finger not so lightly.
Kyuhyun leaned his head closer to Sungmin, licking Sungmin’s bottom lips before kissing him and delving his tongue inside Sungmin’s mouth. Sungmin was really in no position to refuse the tongue inside his mouth because Kyuhyun had pressed his lips onto Sungmin hard, making both of them breathe through their nose with difficulties.
“..where’s the condom?” Kyuhyun asked Sungmin some time later. His pants were already pooling around his thighs and Sungmin’s pants were no longer attached to his legs. The school uniform Kyuhyun wore was messy and Sungmin had unbuttoned a few of the top buttons since it was distubing for the both of them. The tie had been thrown by Sungmin to the tiled floor along with his own pants.
“B-bag,” Sungmin answered, finger pointing at the back of Kyuhyun’s shoulder to the direction where Kyuhyun had placed his bag previously. Kyuhyun brought his hand up and wrapped it around Sungmin’s hand which was still pointing weakly at the bench. He curled Sungmin’s fingers and turned it into a fist with his own fingers still wrapped around it.
“Do you mind if I do it without the condom?” Kyuhyun asked as he removed the arm circling his neck and carefully turned Sungmin around, the fist in his hand was gently uncurled by him and he placed the palm on the flat surface beside Sungmin’s head, his other hand was entangled with Sungmin’s and he brought both of their hands to rest on the door too because he could feel they’d fell down the floor if they didn’t hold on anything.
“U-um, no..” Sungmin whispered softly. He really thinks he had no energy left to talk.
The room grew hotter and hotter as if there was a fire coming to their direction. Moans and groans filled the room minutes later, followed by the sound of skin slapping against skin. The sun had long gone but neither cared, the gate was closed but it seemed like it was the last thing they need to worry in their list.
Sungmin knew having sex with a student in the locker room was wrong, but in times like this, he really didn’t want to know which was wrong and which was right. He had forgotten what Jungsu had warned him earlier and because when it was just the two of them, it really was just the two of them and the rest of the world couldn’t interfere.
-
Kyuhyun could feel the stare of I-know-what-disgusting-thing-have-you-done at him everywhere he walked around the school; in the canteen, in the class, even in the toilet. He tried to ignore the stares as much as he could but when the janitors gave him that look same look, he decided to skip school for that day.
His phone vibrated in his pocket as he walked down the streets, enjoying the beautiful view of the city; the thing he has never done ever since he started to live in this new place.
(ryeowook to kyuhyun @ 10:02) dude wher r u? u skip class?
(kyuhyun to ryeowook @ 10:03) yeah, i think the whole school hates me.
(ryeowook to kyuhyun @ 10:03) wher r u? i need to explain smth to u. i’ll send yesung to ur place rn.
(kyuhyun to ryeowook @ 10:04) the ice cream store down the streets..?
(ryeowook to kyuhyun @ 10:04) ok don’t go anywhere. yesung will be there by three.
Around two minutes later, when Kyuhyun had just paid for the chocolate ice-cream he bought, someone tapped his shoulder not so lightly and he almost flung his ice-cream if he didn’t have a tight hold of it.
“What the fu-“
“Kyuhyun, Mr. Lee no longer teaches in our school again! Don’t you think you need to do something?” Yesung said tiredly and he bent, resting his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. He was forced by Ryeowook to go to the place where Kyuhyun was and he ran from school to this place, it wasn’t easy.
“Why?” was the only thing Kyuhyun could say a minute later.
“What, why? You don’t know? He resigned because.. the principal knew what you did with Sungmin in the locker room a few days ago,” Yesung gulped as he saw the way Kyuhyun stared at him, wanting more information. “And Mr. Park was kind enough to let Sungmin resign as soon as possible before he officially fire Sungmin. Tiffany eavesdrop, that is why the whole school knows ab-hey! Kyuhyun!”
Kyuhyun didn’t care what Yesung would be saying next. He ran through the busy streets as his hand was busy searching the phone in his pocket. He stopped running immediately when he realized that he didn’t have Sungmin’s number. Hell, he didn’t even know where Sungmin lived despite the two months sitting in the same bus stop together.
-
The first time Kyuhyun saw Sungmin after his resignation from the school was two months later when he had graduated. They bumped into each other in the 24/7 store near the school. Both of them were surprised to meet each other at an unimaginable place like the store.
Sungmin smiled first at him and said a weak ‘hello’. Kyuhyun couldn’t control himself and instead of saying hello back, he grabbed Sungmin’s wrist and dragged him outside the store, finding a place for both of them to sit.
“Why didn’t you tell me about this before? Is this why you were sad that time in the bus stop?” Kyuhyun asked him as soon as both of them were seated on the chair outside the cafe.
“No,” Sungmin admitted. “That time in the bus stop was a different story. Ah, I owe you the story, right?” he asked, trying to be cheerful but Kyuhyun knew he wasn’t as cheerful as before and he was just faking it.
“I don’t want to hear it anymore. Now, tell me why don’t you say you’re going to leave that time?”
“Is it important?” Sungmin replied as he looked up at the street lamp which was the only thing that interests him the most at that moment.
“Yes. You could say it properly to me and I could’ve asked your number and your address, and we could just meet and still be together since you’ve resigned from that damn school!” Kyuhyun lost his temper. “You have no idea how stressed I was when you’re not with me and I don’t even know where you are, how did you do and when will I get the chance to see you again!” Kyuhyun yelled and immediately realized his actions. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. I deserve that, I should be the one to say sorry.”
Silence engulfed them as the wind ruffled their hair softly. It was hard for the both of them, and Sungmin knew he had no answers to Kyuhyun’s questions because he himself didn’t know the exact reason why didn’t he tell Kyuhyun about his resignation. If he told all of those things to Kyuhyun then both of them wouldn’t suffer that much.
He guessed he was just too afraid to say that.
“I’m.. I’m going to leave the country to continue my studies,” Kyuhyun said, breaking the silence. “Will you be there when I leave?”
Kyuhyun is cruel, Sungmin knew that. But asking for him to come when Kyuhyun was going away to a place he was sure he wouldn’t be able to reach was just too cruel. But Sungmin was also cruel to start with, if he was not, then both of them would be happy for the past few months.
“I don’t know,” Sungmin answered honestly. “When will you leave?”
“Tomorrow at nine,” Kyuhyun said and he turned Sungmin to face him. “Please? Will you be there tomorrow? For me?” he pleaded.
There was no answer from Sungmin. Kyuhyun stood up and made move to leave, but Sungmin still didn’t budge.
“Please,” Kyuhyun said for the last time and looked at Sungmin who was looking straight ahead. Sensing that Sungmin wouldn’t say anything, Kyuhyun decided to leave.
Kyuhyun walked under the illumination of the street lamp, leaving Sungmin alone in silence. Sungmin stole a glance at Kyuhyun’s direction and he could only see Kyuhyun’s figure becoming smaller and smaller the further Kyuhyun walked away from him.
-
“I can do this,” Sungmin said as he grabbed his wallet and stuff it inside his pocket. “I can do this,” he repeated.
He boarded a taxi as quick as possible in front of the apartment building. “To the airport! Hurry!”
Sungmin would see Kyuhyun this time, even if it was for the last time.

Kyuhyun curled into a ball in his bed as the sun was hurting his eyes. He decided that he should buy a curtain to block the sunlight from streaming into his previously peaceful, dark room. The constant vibration from his phone made him jerk in surprise and he sat on the bed, rubbing away the sleepiness from his eyes.
Once he was sure he was fully awake, he reached for his phone under his pillow and flipped it open. Seven text messages from Sungmin.
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 6:34) wake up!!
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 7:07) lazy ass. cmon wake up!
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 7:22) god, if you’re going to be like this forever then you’d be left behind by the plane when u come back here
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 7:25) and im goin to kill u if u don’t come back here this lunar new year.
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 7:27) lunar new year is ur birthday! :D it’s been almost two years since i last see u and i miss u <3
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 8:57) yah, wake up! or else im goin to call u
(sungmin to kyuhyun @ 8:57) omg yes yes i’ll just call you to wake you up!
The phone in Kyuhyun’s hand vibrated and he didn’t need to look at the caller ID to know who was calling him. He pressed the green button and placed the phone to his ear.
“WAKE UPPPP!” Sungmin shouted from across the line and Kyuhyun held the phone far away from his ear before placing it to its place before.
“I’m awake, sweetie.”
“You will come back here right? Right right right?”
“Yes. Will you be there to welcome me back?”
“Of course, silly. I miss you!”

Kyuhyun ran into Sungmin, the heavy backpack he had carried for hours was rocking unsteadily on his back and the luggage was left by him on the beautifully tiled floor. He hugged Sungmin tightly as he was able to reach Sungmin with his hand, one of his arms was hugging Sungmin by the neck and the other one was wrapped securely around his waist.
Sungmin placed his head into the crook of Kyuhyun’s neck, he breathed in the scent he had missed for the past few months. He wrapped both of his arms around Kyuhyun. Both of them were having a hard time trying to breathe, but none of them seemed to care about that.
“I missed you,” Kyuhyun whispered.
Sungmin buried his face deeper into Kyuhyun’s neck. He hugged Kyuhyun tightly as if he was going to suffocate the man. “I missed you too.”
There was a voice of a woman echoing around the room, saying hello to all of the passengers who had landed safely in the airport.
“Welcome back, Kyuhyun!” Yesung greeted him and the rest of the people who were also fetching him from the airport interrupted them. There were his parents and all of his friends waiting for him.
“Hello, Kyuhyun! I didn’t get the chance to say hello to you because you’re too busy hugging me,” Sungmin said cheerfully.
“Because you’re too busy suffocating me,” Kyuhyun corrected and all of them laugh.
Sungmin was never going to say goodbye, no matter how long and how far Kyuhyun was away from him. Because he knew, that goodbye was nonexistent and would be easily replaced with another gazillion of hellos-goodbye was not important. What was important was the first of everything and not the end of everything.
