I'm elated...medicated...
Ever notice how we are all pretty desensitised to human suffering and death these days?
Last night I was watching one of those(many) documentaries about the September 11 attacks, which still is hard to watch and makes me sad to see it...but after all the panicking people and footage of people falling from the buildings, a lone cameraman was walking down an empty, ash covered street, just after the South Tower collapsed, and there was this dove or some bird, limping and totally covered in dust, walking in circles next to the cameraman...and for some reason I felt so sorry for it :S
Which is absolutely ridiculous of course...comparing the plight of some stupid bird to that of the couple thousand people that were burned alive or crushed to death by metal and concrete that day. But its just so weird how often we hear or see folk having horrible shit happen to them, or dying, and we just detatch ourselves from it.
Guess thats just life.
