With Ninomiya’s casual atmosphere, the wall between the two of them disappeared
Senpai-kouhai in their agency, Kazunari Ninomiya and Nakajima Yuto co-star for the first time in this drama. Ninomiya-sensei calls Hey! Say! JUMP’s Nakajima Yuto, “JUMP-kun”.
Ninomiya: Because he has the image of being, “JUMP-kun”.
Nakajima: I’m JUMP-kun (laughs). The filming set is so much fun. But Aoshi-sensei had a logical and quiet image, so I arbitrarily had the same image for Ninomiya-kun.
Ninomiya: You were mistaken.
Nakajima: Yes (laughs). When we had the poster shoot, you were cheerful and you casually said, “Yoroshiku ne” (T/N: I look forward to working with you / Please treat me well), to me too. The wall between us disappeared instantly (laughs). I thought, “He’s someone who doesn’t bring out the feeling of a senpai.”
Ninomiya; That kind of tension, the feeling of being a senpei and stuff like that, isn’t it tiring? Because we’re doing this together on a daily basis for three months too.
Nakajima: But as expected, as the filming set’s chairman, you also have leadership.
Ninomiya: Is that so? Isn’t it fun just with the baseball club boys?
Nakajima: In order for us to be able to have fun, Ninomiya-kun was the one who opened the way for us. But there times when the boys get hyped up, and Yuzuko (Arimura Kasumi) gets left behind, I think that’s bad. Like the baseball club boys’s bags are casually placed somewhere, and Yuzuko’s bag is the only one kind of separated and sighing over there.
Ninomiya: That’s also like a real high school, right? Because I’m also looking at the guys in the baseball club with (Arakawa) Yoshiyoshi-san. Physically, Yuzuko is all alone.
Nakajima: But in order for her not to be alone, Ninomiya-kun quickly goes to talk to her. I think you’re kind.
Ninomiya: No no. When the filming progresses, together with the story, she will become a lady-like status. But JUMP-kun is energetic.
Nakajima: Yes, I’m JUMP-kun. Physically, I’m tired (laughs).
Ninomiya: Ah, is that so!?
Nakajima: I usually get muscle cramps (laughs)
Ninomiya: You also play catchball the entire time during breaks, it’s very much like Shirao. I think that’s nice.
Nakajima: Thank you for giving me advice about baseball-like behavior and such.
Ninomiya: Same here, because everyone in the baseball club is helping me (laughs).
Nakajima: What is amazing about Ninomiya-kun is how he delivers his lines differently in the test run and in the real take. I wonder how the next one will come, I can’t be careless (laughs)
Ninomiya: I surprise you during the real take, right? (laughs)
Nakajima: It’s amazing how Ninomiya-san has a number of ways to say something. The tone of his voice also changes completely depending on the scene. I’m really learning!
Ninomiya: (laughs) I, I’ll do my best.

I’m kind of bummed this crosstalk was so short. Then again, I guess since this interview was done near the start of filming, they didn’t have much to talk about in terms of funny behind-the-scenes stories and such. Not to worry though, the eighth Kazunari’s Talk room has Yuto again, so we’ll have more inter-jimusho senpai-kouhai interactions there.
