I am going to go visit one of my closest friends tomorrow! I was feeling kind of lonely today, so I decided to buy the plane ticket before I changed my mind. It should be a fun long weekend. :-)
In fandom news...
kaiz and josanpq have written an excellent Severus/Kingley novel that very well-written (as well as long). (NC-17) A fifth year fic, written post-OoTP, I look forward to continuing reading the different view of 5th year. It portrays a very unique Severus, one that is persecuted constantly by his demons, treated badly by the Order and worse by Voldemort, and is above all lonely. I love the way that he is being constantly being used, especially by Dumbledore- and Dumbledore is not portrayed sympathetically at all- he is on the side of light, but at the same time is power-obssessed, greedy, and very very manipulative. The character of Kingley is original, and I love that he is not perfect but has faults in relationships. This fic is also one of the best portrayals of Sirius as an arrogant bully (while at the same time making the reader feel a bit sorry for him once he is in Grimauld Place), and a strong Remus who is not a perfect angel. Long and absorbing, it is mostly a romance, but it sets up the stage nicely for the next story to follow in this planned trilogy.

Draco/Random Death Eaters, including Bellatrix Lestrange, NC-17
rape, violence
A torture fic where Draco has displeased the Dark Lord and is now paying the price. Draco is very sympathetically portrayed, and the different DE's are unique and interesting. The father-son relationship is also very touching in this fic.
And ooh, there is now a watcher community to after_survivor! Yeah! I can now go and squee over the wonderful wonderful RPG. :-D
