oh my gooooooooood
1. Bleach continues its tradition of pissing me off after a decent chapter. How I wish I could quit you.
2. Naruto is, as always, utterly derivative. The story just veered from a bizarre Sephiroth/Jenova metaplot (that never seemed to be entirely resolved and doesn't seem like it ever will be at this rate) into something like Nolan's Batman, or I've seen comparisons to Code Geass (a series I roll my eyes at, perhaps unfairly, since I haven't watched it), or maybe even a cheap simplistic knockoff of Suikoden II. To be fair, it may be derivative but at least the story holds together. Unlike Bleach.
That said, it's sad that I still think Kishimoto is at his best when writing Sasuke. (It is the one single tightly penned character arc, looking back. You can really see the roots of his influences and the path he's walked to reach this conclusion. Danzo -- who was my favorite villain of the series -- serves as a fascinating foil for Sasuke in that sense, even more so than Itachi imo. And I find it fitting that the second Hokage was the one who never fully accepted Sasuke -- not just because it's in his personality to be suspicions, but because I suspect the two of them are more similar than either one would like to admit, or in other words those two count among the most pragmatic/clearsighted characters we've seen in the entire series.)
Doesn't stop me from being pissed at his (both Kishi and Sasuke's) treatment of Sakura though. ~_~
(This last arc has been turning me into a casual Kakashi/Sakura shipper TO BE QUITE HONEST.)
3. ONE PIECE.
SO GOOD. Waterworks not on yet though (they usually don't hit me until we really see the big picture and understand full context). This is probably the first chapter in a while I couldn't bring myself to reread immediately though. Jeez this arc has just been full of SAD.

Oh man. This is even more proof to me that I'm onto something about the timeline (see: that long warlord timeline post). WHAT WAS THAT GUY UP TO SIXTEEN YEARS AGO. /deluded fangirl ravings
And I seriously looooooove the flashback designs. the younger looks of various characters. Are. Amazing. In various ways. XD
