Since I missed the All-Stars game, decided to keep half an eye on the CA Clasico (LA Galaxy vs SJ Quakes). My first full Quakes game. :') (Watched the highlights of Quakes vs Sounders last week, as well as some of Quakes vs Red Bulls)
And I'm glad it was worth the watch... I think... Surprisingly good atmosphere*, and very fast-paced game overall (even though I stopped really actively watching after first half because ahahaha oh Quakes...)
* I've heard good things about Sounders vs. Timbers (Seattle/Portland, apparently THE biggest MLS rivalry), which I regret missing. (But I think I was busy that night anyway)
1. Yay we have a good goalie. A good goalie will carry me through pretty much anything.
2. Yay Wondo. <3
3. Good lord our midfield/def.... I don't even know what to say... (since this is the only game I've really watched, not sure exactly where the problem lies, but LA had 70% possession according to the announcers (and it was something like 23+ shots on goal vs 4 shots for us.... which the score [2-2!] definitely does not reflect, LMAO)
4. I was really liking the teamwork we have up front. The few times we got up front, that is. (Aha. Ha. Ha.) Wondo actually has serious chops (I'm sad that his World Cup stint happened the way it did) and was a great pleasure to watch. Although it's weird, because this isn't a playstyle I'm fond of in general. (Alas... see #3)
LA had much "prettier" play, but welp, results are results I guess...
Not sure what game I'll check out next. The only team I'm really interested in following other than the Earthquakes is NY Red Bulls (only because of Thierry Henry, and as a bonus their starting goalkeeper, Luis Robles, is apparently half-Korean [it's always been kinda important to me to support Asian Americans in sports other than tennis/badminton/golf/figure-skating HAHAHA]). Kinda thought about checking out the New England Revolution too (they have a Vietnamese-American field player), but I feel like I'm gonna need more of a reason to do so. (Sounders vs. Timbers seems interesting too, as I mentioned above, but not particularly interested in following each team individually.) And I also thought about checking out some of the teams that my favorite USMNT players play for (Sounders is again on that list) but eh. Again, need more motivation, especially when every game is a two hour commitment (unless I just put it on in the BG while I do other things)....

Manga this week:
1. Bleach. Blah blah zombies blah "zombies" blah snore does this even fucking matter plot where what huh. Nice to see that Kubo can still write an on point Ikkaku and Yumi, unlike the gazillion other characters he's completely shafted. (Sigh.)
2. Naruto. Just when I thought Kishimoto couldn't out-Kubo Kubo....
(I knew within 2 pages that this was NOT gonna go well. LMAO)
(BTW I find it tiresome that Naruto shipping is always framed as ___ "deserves" ___. [usually a dude deserving a chick, with Hinata being the sole exception.] I mean, beyond the fundamental grossness of the argument, who really fucking cares anymore. None of these characters deserve their fucking writer.)
3. One Piece: OMG.... have no words for how much I fucking love the designs/personalities of Doflamingo's crew. And holy crap that last page is stunning. Eek.
