wow manga came out early this week
1. Bleach: I wasn't even going to talk about this ridiculous series for a while, but this chapter was surprisingly good (by recent standards). Mostly because my two all-time favorite characters show up in it. (I love those two~~~~~ even when they're not doing anything~~~~~)
And the fight was surprisingly well-choreographed (?!?!!!). Again, by recent standards... but seeing this particular bromance (different pair, I always liked them though they were never favorites, but it's amazing how MUCH I like them with the nostalgia filter on) in action again really is so refreshing after months of sheer boredom.
And Chad is such a sweetheart, and I will NEVER feel comfortable about the fact that Mayuri is a "good guy" (this isn't even a shades of gray thing; I'm fine with shades of gray but the way the narrative treats him.... ugh).
I won't talk about how disgusting Kubo's been with this particular set of villains (and the transphobic overtones these last two chapters).
2. Naruto: Sakura... succeeded? AMAZING
I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that Kishimoto's writing for Sakura/Sasuke is surprisingly good, by which I mean actually subtle and well-characterized. (I question my ever-lowering standards constantly, but he's always been decent-to-good with Sasuke, oddly enough. I mean on one hand I'm glad I wasn't misreading some of the recent scenes -- but otoh it's so inconsistent with Kishi's other relationship-writing that I don't really know how to react... haha.)
(There's still some holes -- frex what would he have done if the acid scene hadn't occurred? ~_~ But eh.)
Well either way, with this week's Bleach/Naruto I guess my long neglected battle couple kink has been satisfied. Sort of. (I'll take what I can get.)
3. Fairy Tail: Speaking of battle couples...... Ugh I don't like this pairing but whatever. (I keep waiting to warm up to it, but it's never gonna happen, sorry. At least I don't hate it...)
Of the core protagonists, Gray has probably always been the most interesting one though. (Lucy too, but mostly because of her mom.) But srry2say mostly I'm having Ultear flashbacks and getting mad all over again about what happened to her.
I'm also not that into this new development to be honest, because I LIKED that the most important people in Gray's life were all women... This new figure basically comes out of nowhere. Oh well.
4. ONE PIECE: Oh my god Law I can't get over how Oda keeps ahahaha how many weeks has it been

Korra S3: The trailer looked SO good, but after the utter BS that was S2 I'm not falling for this. >(
Zankyou no Terror: Watanabe/Yoko Kanno collaboration = instant watch. First ep was decent but not terribly exciting.
I feel like I should be watching the new Sailor Moon, but I haven't even caught up on new Mushishi yet so whatever.

Moonlight Blade scenery/costumes.
Aside from the random paper cutout flowers (.....) -- SQUEE. I especially love the many snowscapes, and the architecture (~3 minutes in), and that gorgeous nighttime forest at the very end.
