So now we should protect Israel? How am I supposed to know what to think, if people keep telling me contrasting things?
As for Christmas trees. By not buying real Christmas trees, you are hurting tree farmers during the most important part of the year. "Sorry Timmy, no Christmas this year. Lucky choose plastic over paper." Not buying real Christmas trees because they are cut down is like not buying vegetables because they are mercilessly pulled from the ground. And finally, but just as important, buy not buying a real tree, you have denied that tree it's Christmas destiny. All its hopes and dreams of being adorned and admired by humans on Christmas have been dashed. Did you learn anything from the Peanuts Christmas special. I've got to sit down.
I did think about the tree farmers and the tree sellers in passing...while I was writing the entry. To hurt trees or to hurt farmers and sellers? Wikipedia says a lot of farms sell at least 64% of their trees. And natural christmas trees aren't too bad...since they take 10 years to grow and in that time they're good at getting rid of CO2. They also can be recycled into mulch . What I thought was funny was that one of the species that can be used as a christmas tree...rarer but still available... was the giant sequoia. Maybe that's the type Macy's gets. Artificial trees, though often made of toxic PVC? and stabilizing lead...are cheaper if you put it up each year. I kinda like stacking and spreading the fronds of a fake christmas tree...it's all so convienent.
Oh noes, I don't know which Nancy this is. ....Maybe it's Nancy Yip with all the smiles and "Love" tossed in at the end. But then again Nancy Ly could have used those as well and she visits the tree and inhabits Fanny's place pretty often of late.
