We've started to find our feet in a basic sort of way. We've used the local Reggae buses, which are jam packed minibuses playing loud (you guessed it) reggae music. They're cheap and safe, so most everyone uses them here. Our accommoadation is pretty far away from St George's itself, though it has a beautiful view of the shore. I've been devoured by the local mosquitoes and Fiona says I look like I have plague.
The beaches are unreal here. They're every bit as beautiful as they look in the guidebooks and not even that crowded. The sea is a translucent blue-green, perfectly clean and overlooked by shady trees. We've spent quite a bit of time at the beach getting acquainted with pina coladas (yum!) and getting hassled by salespeople. We're getting a LOT of male attention here, but much more for the possibility of a ticket to europe than for sex. We're also keeping track of the number of times we've been offered drugs - so far 8 and counting :)
Other positive experiences include an aloe vera leg massage, which really is amazing for mosquito bites and sunburn and a bit of snorkelling.
