Gundam Seed Destiny Special Edition II --

There's a rational part of me that wonders why I'd bother watching this thing when I pretty much know what's going to happen in it =P The other part is sucker enough to be curious about what was added/changed/etc. that it really doesn't care *L* And then, of course, the overriding fangirl just wants to hear Ishida Akira's voice ^^v

In any case, minimal changes were made (as far as my memory of the original episodes can tell). Athrun sounded slightly calmer in that exchange with Kira/Cagalli/Miriallia at Crete. They also cut out Athrun's original parting comment to Cagalli that half of me winced at, but the other half understood all too well *L* Exchanging Athrun for Luna in the Shinn rescue thing had basically no impact on plot whatsoever, except to perhaps lend a bit more credibility to the Shinn/Luna thing... whether they succeeded is probably moot =P Oh, and Miri on the bridge during Cagalli's abduction... again, very little to no impact on the storyline, they probably just figured they'd recycle footage A instead of footage B *LOL*

Of the added scenes, I have so say that I found the Kira and Lacus stuff to be adorable *grins* And Kira seated cross-legged on the bed, hunched over fixing Pink-chan as Lacus looks on is very very cute ^_^

Ending theme is gorgeous. Ending sequence is fairly standard... nothing to really write home about... except maybe Athrun's hair extensions ^^;;;

I have to say though, that the first two shots -- Athrun/Cagalli, Kira/Lacus and the "items of significance" that appeared with them -- amused me to no end *snickers*

Cagalli: I gave him a necklace.
Athrun: I gave her a ring.
Lacus: I gave him a gundam.
*they look towards Kira*
Kira: <.<... >.>... I... *sheepish smile*....... nothing...
Moral of the story: Lacus is the only one who gives practical gifts, and Kira is cheap *LOL*

As a total aside, I noticed that a few of Asucaga fans have latched onto the ending sequence... I was totally prepared to melt at it as well, until a little part of my brain said to me: "You know... you can't see it clearly, but judging by the size and shape of the thing, that could very well be the ring that's disintegrating in Athrun's hand and trickling away through his fingers..." *LOL* And strangely enough, I think I actually like it more for that tiny possibility.

Confirmation would be good, but I suspect that's not forthcoming until the DVD gets released and we get a clearer view of the shot. Until then, it's something to speculate about ^^v
