The Illustrated Chronicles of Bookshelf Abuse Vol.03

Technically speaking, I shouldn't bother cataloguing this particular Amazon Japan shipment because the majority of it wasn't mine. In fact, about 80% of it was sutsume's POT =P

I only ended up getting two things...

But since I did add stuff to my bookshelf...

Gundam Seed Destiny: The Edge vol.4 -- The Edge is Kuori Chimaki's interpretation of the events of Destiny, and as such cannot be considered strictly canon. Regardless however, it is still good to have some insight into what Athrun was going through and feeling at certain moments, such as the fight between Shinn and Kira. The art is absolutely gorgeous, but it's no surprise that I read the Edge more for Athrun's narrative than the dialogue or the art *L* The material is just interesting to compare/contrast with, and/or assimilate into my own views. Definitely need more... because this fangirl one can never have enough Athrun Zala ^_^

X ~ zero --

So... six months after this was (re-)released, I finally gave in and got myself a new copy... *sighs* Despite the fact that I'm not particularly fond of the new pic of Kamui that was inserted into this version of X ~ zero (the one from the cover art where he looks even more like a girl ^^;;), I still got one because I'm a sucker for things that match... orz

And yes, the black dust covers are actually tinged red for Zero and blue for Infinity, hence the disparity in the photo.
VSIf it weren't for X ~ infinity, I'd far prefer the first version, which was so much more impressive (and expensive) with its simple but classy hardcover and protective cardboard slipcase =P

Also missing from the new edition are the interviews with Mokona Apapa and Ohkawa Nanase that were featured at the back of the old one.

But what's more interesting, is that although one new image was inserted into the new edition, one image was also taken out...

<-- Specifically, this one, from the very first page of the old edition.

For people who don't actually collect the tankoubon, I suspect it wouldn't be too much of an issue. But for those who do, they'll be missing the "0 - The Fool" card unless they have the old edition of X ~ zero.

As CLAMP have stated that the X tankoubon will end when they round out all 22 cards of the major arcana, it's an interesting predicament to be in... one for which I can't really understand the reasoning... unless, of course, it was a mistake that they left it out. Or, god forbid, they plan to re-(re-)release the artbooks (with the missing card) once the inevitable third instalment comes out... >.<

Now if only CLAMP would actually FINISH X/1999... =P

Or more accurately, if Kadokawa would only relent to finally publishing the damned thing... *headdesk*
