Like I said, there are instances where I'd agree to such things. I think the point of the matter may be the identification that the incompetance is just one of those things that depends on point of view. While you will show that you are capable in supporting the feelings of your child, the technical sense of things shows that you were lacking in your truth speaky skills. Of course, like many things, the value that holds the most importance varies with the situation. There is no guidelines or rules to follow. I won't say live life the way you want because I have my own biases (is that a word) on the things I dislike. Basically, you really shouldn't go overboard and lose a measure of tactfulness while speaking the truth. I guess it's always a balance of things that work. You can't delude someone too much with too many white lies, but you shouldn't crush their mental health completely with a few harsh words either.
