I LIVE!!!

So I know that I haven't updated in forever and a day, but life has been a little bussy. So anyways since December school started again, I got a raise at Applebee's, went to Naka-Kon, I visited home, and my family visited me.

So from the beginning.....

School started and we're about 2/3 of the way through the semester. I can't say it's terribly exciting since most of my classes are gen eds that needed to get out of the way. About the only thing that's ever exciting about being on campus is the anime club meetings. Anime club definantly grew a lot this past semester with a lot more regular members. This was excelent because it made our trip to Kansas City for Naka-Kon a hell of a lot more fun.

Speeking of Naka-Kon, that was a bucketfull of fun, and probably the highlight of the semester thus far. Our club won best overall skit in the skit compation and we won a trophy and $100 that we split amongst the members who participated in the event. Of course there were all the usual things that you can find at a convention, like cosplay, pannels, and lots and lots of vendors. But probably the best part for me was getting the chance to meet Greg Ayres who is my favorite voice actor. He was so nice, he even called my sister who was sick at home in bed just to make her feel better. Overall, Naka-Kon was great, and most of the members can't wait till AFW since Naka-Kon was their first convention.

Over in the world of Applebee's, I finnally passed my six month mark and was granted my first raise. It was only twenty five cents, but hey, something is better than nothing I guess. I also was allowed to cross train into other areas so that I am no longer just a host. I also know how to prep now and how be the General Utilities(GU)operator. Being GU is just a nice fancy way of saying that I'm the dishwasher, but oh well.

I guess the last thing that needs to be mentioned is the ways of the trip to Denver. Over spring break I was actually scheduled for a couple of days off in a row, so I decided to go visit my family. It was nice, because I stayed with my mom but spent most of my meal time with my dad or my dad's side of the family. It made everyone happy and it was relaxing to it was worth the trip. But the best part of this trip was that I got to see my friend Jason for the first time in almost a year. I think the best way to describe our relationship is something very close to being siblings. He's a lot like the brother that I've never had, and we've been sort of watching out for each other for a number of years. I had almost forgotten how much I missed him till I got to spend time with him again. I guess it's a constant reminder of everything I had to give up in my persuit of a higher education.

Oh I almost forgot that Jeanette came to Hays again and visited for a week. She also brought Zeign with her and it was quite a bit of fun. I don't get to entertain people all that often, so it was a nice change of pace.

Well I hope that fills in a the giant gaping hole in my LJ. Till next time America!!!
