This is a gorgeous piece that centres around Percy’s SPQR tattoo. Annabeth’s thoughts on it were well reasoned out and very believable. The author showcases an argument between them in a very healthy way-not just the run-of-the-mill fighting-and-make-up fic, but involving a mature discussion and a positive relationship, dealing with real issues and finding understanding between the characters. It gives some resolution for the eight-month-gap leading up to MoA that never got dealt with much due to the canon plot racing forward, and shows the little missing moments that helps us fill in the blanks. And oh, to top it off, Hazel-and-Annabeth friendship, which I am such a sucker for, but I’m sure others out there will enjoy, too!
