Before I forget!
I just wanted to thank 
jigofspite and
ruidoso for the Christmas cards! You guys are astouuuuundingly organised and speedy, I am quite impressed. :D
I'm gonna do a card post a bit later -- I am resolutely NOT ALLOWED until I'm done my challenge fics, because otherwise it's just going to be a procrastination tool. So, uh, you can all look forward to getting HAPPY FEBRUARY cards? :D?
We also got this super awesome knitted card from one of the Flat's local friends, which was super neat. &the mail;
Hope everyone else is having a good day! We have our
skielah back from the wilds of the USA, and have spent our afternoon playing vicious games of laser strike (came third! L. came second! we all got smoked by a tiny child!) and then dawdling around the mall while we tried to return to room temperature because omg that is a workout.
The mall was a little more stressful than you'd expect even for December -- in that we pulled into the carpark and as we cleared the corner an unattended shopping cart accelerated towards us.
In a feat I'm sure I could never replicate I checked my mirror, slammed on the brakes, successfully smacked the hazards on**, DOVE OUT OF THE DOOR, sprinted, caught the trolley before it hit us, and then returned it to a place where it was not about to cause a large amount of panel damage to an innocent bystander. #suprisecompetency #modesty
**Mostly this was impressive because I'm having a hard time forming words at the moment, so if I'd had to yell at Chris to hit them, it would've come out as "TURN ON THE FLASHY LIGHT THINGYS!!"
