Hi, internets. I had coffee and stalked the Pokeno market with blue_raven this afternoon, which was nice and got us both out of our respective houses for a couple hours. We maybe spent about half an hour in Esquires talking about how awesome Folie a Deux is, which is a concept I am all on board with. From beneath you it devouuuuuuuuuuuurs! \o/

And then I came back homewards and spent the rest of the afternoon pricing up laptops/netbooks. You guys. I am so TORN. Because in news which will have about half of you crying "traitor!" and the other part all "Numfar do the dance of joy!" I am... really tempted by the MacBook Air. Because one of the stores has it for $2000 NZD (RRP is $2900 AUD, the other store which has them in stock is asking $4000 NZD), with 3 years free Applecare as well. And... SO TEMPTED. Because it's tiny and light and shiny and pretty and demonstrably pretty awesome in what I have seen of those flisters who have them. But. That store does not do finance on Apple products at all. The best I could get is 120 days interest free before it all lands on my credit card. And I'm trying to be fiscally responsible. (The store which had them for $2500 but has sold out and isn't getting more DOES do finance, but the only ones they have are the $4000 ones, which ahahahahahaaa fuck off no.)

Or my other option seems to be either a 9/10 inch HP or Asus or Eeeeee. The store which does do 18 months interest free on anything over $400 has 9" Eeees (how do you stop spelling that?) for $700, which I think is the best bet - they're a lot newer than the Asus ones I was looking at for the same price and also a lot prettier (hello I am shallow), and have about 40 gigs more HD. Not that I'm really worried about the HD; I basically just need to be able to back up my camera when I travel. Having enough room for a couple tv episodes as well would just be gravy. And the HP is pretty and has a keyboard I like the look of - I'll be honest, the fact I don't think I can pull my "tap the touch pad to click things" trick on an Apple is putting me off there; it's a tiny thing but it's one of those things that annoys me out of proportion. HI I DON'T LIKE CHANGE. - but the HPs seem to be a lot more expensive than comparable other brands.

So unless something changes magically I will probably be responsible and go for the Eeeeee (no seriously. sic?) but... I figured it was worth asking people what they thought! Since I gather most of you guys are laptop primary users, and I know a fair few people have recently gone Mac after being long time PC users, so... what do you think? Suggestions appreciated. <3

And now: booking flights. NO REALLY SELF STOP SECOND-GUESSING AND PROCRASTINATING.
