Aw, nuts, I just looked it up and apparently it must fall under common usage now or something because dictionary.com thinks it is a real word. I am sorry but UGH NO./irrational ...oh, wait, Chambers at least have my back on this. \o/
EDIT: Okay, yet more linkage suggests that it's always been acceptable to use the un- prefix, I just swear I've rarely if ever seen it myself so it seems completely at odds to my brain. Carry on as you were, people. *fails. at. life.*
In other news, um. ...hey, I wonder if Daniel Jackson would write my flashfic for me since he can't keep his mouth shut right now and he might as well make himself useful. *tetchy* *lying in bed of own making* *and cursing the fitted sheets* *two and a half hours pass* Phew. I think I am done. And twmr. This isn't envy/It's eyeliner: due South flashfic*. I cannot believe I struggled that much with like three hundred words - I'm kind of torn between being annoyed at myself for it being so short and not as cohesive as it should be - it really should have been a lot longer and less try-hard - and being relieved I managed something. I had so many ideas for, well, all the prompts I had available, too, but I got stuck in that point where, like Leonard of Quirm, I had ideas sleeting in so hard I couldn't actually catch any of them for more than a fraction of a second and then they melted really fast anyway. Nuts. But I'm hoping it's better to have something short than nothing at all.
*I feel that everyone should have at least one Phoebe Buffet-ish title in their lives. And it's nearly midnight and I couldn't think of anything else that wasn't a million times lamer than that, even. (No, really. Ask Kat. She suffered my prior suggestions.)
