Okay, so I'm sure 99% of you know this already, but for the 1% who may not? All that 'database unavailable' error crap that LJ seems to be tossing around again at the moment? You can avoid losing comments and suchlike by just hitting refresh when it gives you the error screen, and saying "okay" to repost data. That's worked consistently for me for at least five years whenever this stuff happens, so. Might help, eh?
