YAY my weekend 8D

Jul 21, 2009 15:55

I promised an entry about my weekend, and here it is! If it is a little laking in the squee you were expecting, I do apologise. I am not feeling overly squeeful at the moment.

Yes, I just made up that word. Ahaha.

On Friday I baked a peach-mango crisp and bisquick muffins. They were for our turkey dinner on Saturday. We’d found a really cheap turkey at Trend the weekend before (About $25~30 for it! Which is good for a turkey in Japan, they usually get closer to $50+), and decided it would be fun to have a turkey dinner after we watched Harry Potter. Sadly, before we went to see Potter, we went to sushi and that is where I ate the shrimp. I was fine until that night, which left me in the bathroom and horrified for a few hours that I was going to die. So, lesson learned, Tara’s not gonna be eating shrimp ever again. D:

As for my thoughts on Harry Potter? The romance plots were handled in a much more enjoyable fashion, as in not really handled at all. They were there and kissing happened. Though, like with the books the whole romance stuff seemed tacked on. But oh well. It was enjoyable even if the whole Half Blood Prince reveal was a bit lackluster. I look forward to the final installments of the series, because I really enjoy a vast majority of the last book. Even if it did seem linear and contrived a bit. (But, all the books were very linear in plot, which is perfectly fine. Not a real crit, just an observation.)

So Sunday, after a lot of uuuugh, I ended up taking the shinkansen to Osaka to meet Kate with plenty of time to lollygag around Umeda and then head to the live louse venue of the Hear live. There were a bunch of other vkei bands playing, but really, Kate and I were there to see n’Dool and Hear. n’Dool is a vkei band that is composed of RPG alien superheroes from another dimension. They have a great gimmick and are funny, plus they can sing. Hear, of course, is a comedy vkei band. [note: vKei stands for Visual Style, and usually means that it’s a band that has an awesome look and less then mediocre music. Sometimes, you find bands with really fantastic music and an awesome look, like Hear<3]

Hear was really fun, and they played a few songs that I knew, too. Aito forgot the words to one of the songs, and was happy that we, the audience knew. God Bless Aito, seriously. She just makes you feel like a million dollars. She is probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and she’s just funny and shining and great. She was flattering us all through the show between Hear’s songs. I know, this comes off as “Wow Tara, you’re in love” but it’s really not. I honestly think Aito is one of those people that is on earth to remind us all of the power of happiness and being nice to others. XD

So Kate and I went back to her place, and played Metal Gear Solid. We couldn’t find Kate’s PS1 memory card, so we started playing the third game, opting to play the games in chronological order. It was fun. 8D I think Kate will enjoy.

Monday was pretty much the same, we ordered pizza and enjoyed playing more video games and just laying in bed all day. After eating pizza and playing the Nintendo Metal Gear game for a little bit, I got dressed and headed home.

I made a pit stop at the JUMP shop in Yodobashi camera, and bought a new mug. There is currently a raffle going on for Naruto’s 10th anniversary, and I ended up spending $25 on it to get the clear folder set that I wanted. ^.^;; Dumb and frivolous, but when I left, I had two more mugs, a keychain, a pillow and the clear file folders that I wanted. XD It still means I need to go back and buy something there, but OH WELL. I have a weakness for raffles, and in one where you always get a prize? Well, let’s just say there is a REASON I have never gone into a pachinko parlor outside of the fact they smell and taste like ashtrays.

Got back home on the mostly cheap (had to pay fare from Himeji to Nishi-Katakami), but got off at Katherine’s stop to have dinner at the izekaya (aka: bar) in her town. They have DELICIOUS cheese balls. Yummy! We were all so snippy at each other throughout dinner, because APPARENTLY they had discovered that Family Mart was ding the Naruto 10th anniversary raffle as well. They wouldn’t tell me and I wouldn’t explain during dinner, so we played the game of “I am not telling you what I am hiding if you aren’t telling me what you are hiding” game, because I cannot stand surprises that I know about when people REFUSE to give hints. It was very fun and silly. They had hoped to catch my squee with Katherine’s camera, BUT I FOILED THEM. BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Got back to my place, and I made my lunch for today, and made brief contact with the internet. Stayed up wayyyy late talking to people, but had fun reguardless.

This morning, I watched ‘The Cat Returns’ with Brigid while getting ready for work, ahahaha. I managed to leave the house around 10:30. I finished the book I was reading at work, briefly talked to someone back home, and then sat sown to write this entry.

I was really touched this morning by my mother calling me, worried about my health and well being. It figures that the one time I leave the laptop at home, I get sick and people worry. It just made me feel really loved.

ALSO my Mom has been brought into the cult of Apple. She has an iTouch. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Well, I guess I am going to email Apple soon about the iPhone. . . will have to ask them about bringing one from Japan back to America and using it. I really have become a mac-tard. Well, we’ll see how the mac is holding up this time next year-so far, so good. But I think I am also treating him better then I did Hannie and Karlene. (I name my computers, sue me.)

So yeah. Really good weekend. And this morning my order from The Meat Guy came, and THAT was awesome. Six FREE mini cheesecakes. Seriously. I am gonna have one tonight, and then I will have one in my lunch tomorrow, with crushed and sweetened blueberries on it.

Okay! Time to go home and cook that rye bread in the fridge. Eh heh heh. >.>
