Been trying to get myself to post about this weekend, but haven't really had the energy. Sunday I was tired, and yesterday I spent reading the latest Sookie Stackhouse book. 8D Haven't really felt like talking about my weekend because yesterday and today have sucked at work, but what can ya do? Oh well, carry on.
Went to Osaka this weekend, and despite everyone breaking out in swine flu, I haven't and I haven't heard about any cases outside Osaka and Hyogo prefectures. That is not to say that there aren't any cases, but there haven't been any yet. XD It's like The Stand, only less death. I'm not entirely too concerned, as it seems to be pretty treatable. So yeah, seeing all the people in masks is crazy (as is NO ONE getting on or off at Kobe station on Sunday), but I'm not worried.
SO! Weekend. Went to Osaka for my last celebration of my 9001st birthday (also known as my twe--Ohhh, you thought I'd tell you? HA!), and that was pretty awesome. Kate and I wore opposite matching dresses (hers was white, mine was black), and while I love my dress, she looked freaking amazing and I think I will sell all of my lolita now because Kate just looks better then I have any hope of looking.
This is not meant as self hate, nono. Kate is just amaaaaazing.
Right. So I left for Osaka in the wee hours of the morning (aroud 9am), and met up with Katherine on the train. She was our +1 at the event on Sunday, and I was taking her shopping in *hopes* that we could get her all cutely dressed. Sadly, despite hitting all the usual places we could think of, we failed. No matter, I have on more place to try, and try we shall! Unless we can find an AatP dress with shirring in the back that she likes. Siiiigh.
So, we shopped, and then had a tea break at a really cute restaurant that gave us their upstairs room. XD So we did our daily lolita shots and did a photo shoot. Bahh, I was melting most of the time. My camera died, so I have very few pictures, and am currently waiting for more.
After our tea break (in which I had the most delicious chocolate and white chocolate mousse EVER, must go back again!), we met Celeste, checked into the capsule hotel, and went off to dinner.
Dinner was at the lovely and entertaining Gothic and sacrilegious Christon Cafe. I say that because it has a kid of churchy theme, there are mock renaissance/gothic religious art on the walls and in the decoration. They put un in the back room though, which made me sad, I'd wanted to sit downstairs on the main floor to gawk happily at the ridiculous pseudo alter. Apparently they do weddings there though, but that really doesn't surprise me.The last time I was there, I was not a lolita, but I was attending a fun lolita event. :3 Lots and lots of amazing food was eaten, presents were given, and I pretty much love my friends (ALL of them) more then anything in the world. <3 Thanks guys, you are freaking awesome.
Went back to the capsule hotel, and did karaoke at the place across the street. SADLY, there was no Snake Eater, as we had the fail karaoke program, but it was good none the less. I love how my parties have ended with karaoke. I almost didn't want to do it, cause at the restaurant I was like "muuurrr, fail want sleep," but by the time I got there, I figured, what the hell, karaoke is fun. AND IT WAS. <3 Yay.
The next day we went off to the comic event, which turned out to have a pretty poor turnout, because of the swine flu outbreak in Osaka. People browsed our books, but no one bought anything. Sad. D8 Oh well. I got to check out the Metal Gear Solid section, and now have plans to head to Tokyo in November. XD the section was all gag books, which was interesting and fun! Really cute and funny too, I am happy! Nothing like humour in your video game about a war not-hero.
During the event, I was given two presents--one from Celeste that is a drawing of Obito and Kakashi that is just AWESOME, and another picture of them as kids from our doujinka friend Kari-san. OMG seriously, it is ridiculously cute, and Celeste was like "THIS. THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE ANIME." Obito's got Kakashi in the cutest headlock everrrrr. They are so BFF. <3 I love them. Heeeeeee.
Also, Mutsuki drew us a picture of Kakashi, AHAHAHAHA. In my sketchbook, which I gave to her cause I love her art and I bought her book. MARICAR YOU HAVE A PRESENT. Good presents, yay!
Kate stopped by the table, and at LAST, she got her Christmas present from me--the Kuroshitsuji cups. :3 She was SO happy, and I was really excited that she was happy. 8D She was seriously glowing with happiness, it was all sorts of awesome. ^_^
We had out requisite tea after the event, and after a nice talk with out friends, we headed back to Umeda. After lunch with Celeste, Katherine and I headed to the Jump shop, where we proceeded to buy Things We Do Not Need, including: two new mugs, two new cups, some hand towels, and a puzzle (that was found at Yodobashi Camera, actually. But the same building!). I was pretty glad I'd sent some stuff back home from the event, cause yeaaaah, arms were heavy. XD Katherine got a TON of pins though, which was cool, and a few other things I do believe.
After that, I headed home and crashed.
The past two days of work have been kinda rough. =/ I've been super tired recently, and I am still coughing. Though I think the hacking is over now, and perhaps my cold is as well, I still feel drained. I blame the energy sucking students. Sigh. I won't go into details.
Might have another cook out this weekend, if I'm lucky and the meat that I ordered gets here on Friday. Fingers crossed! I ordered rye bread too, because OMG RYE BREAD, IT IS SO TASTY. So we'll see. I am hopeful!
That's it. Shower and bed. OMG SLEEP. I got a two hour nap and I am still tired, uuuugh. But damn, I needed it.
Gnight all.
