The thuggish guard laughs and dismounts from his horse, drawing his sword from its sheath, intending on skewing Much where he stands. As he does so, Jamie gets close enough to where he can spot the hidden rope keeping the trap they had set earlier from springing. But it's Robin who quickly strings and nocks an arrow to his bow string, letting it fly straight and true...just as the thuggish guard steps over the rope net covered with moss and leaves.

The arrow splits the rope and sticks into the tree behind it, and the branch that had been bent down springs up, pulling the net and snagging the guard. With a surprised yelp, he's drawn up into the air and left there to dangle.

In the meantime, the other two guards - who have also gotten off their horses - are moving in. But so are Robin's men, and the forest is suddenly alive with Lincoln green as they quickly overcome one of the two guards. That leaves one guard remaining, with Much and Will being the closest and having the best chance to close with the man. Robin, catching sight of this, calls over.

"Will! See to him, will you?"
