It had taken Amaterasu a few minutes to figure out what the flashing on her odd little mobile phone meant. As soon as she heard Sam's distressed voice, she slipped the phone back into her Astral Bag and went directly to the Plane. There she paused, looking around to see if she could spot Sam, but he was nowhere in sight--it was as much as she expected.

She began trotting in circles, frowning deeply, her nose to the ground. Sam spent so much time here that his scent was everywhere, but--there. Sam's scent, intertwined with Gene's, the Master's...and fear. Fear and anger. The fur on Amaterasu's hackles rose.

Then she took off running for the fortress. She could only hope that others had gotten the same message she had.

Diva had been at home when her phone chimed merrily. She had been watching the television with idle curiosity, since she didn't understand most of the programs. However, this one channel, "MTV" was especially interesting just because of how odd the "music" was. She flipped her phone open, fiddling with it until her voicemail came up.

Her blood ran cold as she listened to the brief message, and she went to the Plane right away. Diva put her hand lightly to her head thinking of all the terrible, awful, and wonderful things she would do to whoever it was that had...

But the thought was broken as she saw Amaterasu. The very dark expression changed right away as tears brimmed at the corners of her eyes, and Diva trotted after the wolf goddess, clutching the phone to her chest.

"Ne, Amaterasu! Wait, please!" she called after her. Even though Diva would be able to catch up easily, she felt like saving her energy would be smarter.

He always kept the mobile in his pocket, though it didn't ring often; he kept in touch with most allies in more advanced means. There were only a few people it could be, and his frown was curious and wary as he flipped it open.

It deepened into a worried scowl as he listened; it was a sincere enough concern, and expressing it is habitual. The next second he was on the Plane striding towards the Masters' fortress. Sam wasn't going to die again, he wouldn't allow it.

He realises within moments that he's not the only one here; he wastes no energy calling out to them, they'll notice him soon enough.

Sam was in danger.

It was the only thing Hei could think about as he stepped onto the Plane and began frantically looking around for Sam. He spotted the fortress first, its silver surface glimmering in the star and nebula light.

The Masters. It was the only explanation; the only reason why Sam would put out the call, would use the network like that. Hei's breath caught momentarily in his throat. If the Masters had Sam, then he could already be...

He shook his head. No. He wasn't going to lose anyone else.

Hei spotted movement out of the corner of his eye--three other people were making their way toward the fortress as well. He recognized Diva and one of the Doctors; the third was an odd white wolf which seemed to be glowing. No doubt they'd gotten the message as well.

He took off running to meet up with them, not bothering to wait for Mu. Mu had gotten the same message he had; he could only hope that Mu was right behind him.

He was.

Mu appeared on the plane a heartbeat behind Hei, the holy cloth of Aries surrounding him. He had indeed gotten the same message, though he'd given up trying to handle his own phone and had listened to it off Hei's instead.

He was worried for Sam, yes, but it did not show on his face as he approached the small group at a pace that, given the circumstances, was fairly sedate.

Upon arrival he stood next to Amaterasu, laying one hand gently on her head.

"Is this it, then?" he asked the assembled

Amaterasu was pleased to see that Mu was there, though she frowned a little at the man who arrived with him. Hei, she remembered--she had met him briefly, though he had smelled substantially less...cold, then.

She looked around at the assembled, noting Diva's presence as well. She did not recognize the other man, who smelled about as cold as Hei did. And a Time Lord, she noticed. An odd crowd, especially for some sort of makeshift rescue party.

"I assume that everyone here received the same message that I did? I believe that Sam was utilizing the network, in which case we may receive some late-comers. The question, of course, is whether we should make haste to rescue Sam Tyler, or whether we should wait for any others who might wish to help."

She looked between Hei and the man she didn't recognize. "I am Amaterasu, by the way--sun goddess of Nippon and friend to Sam Tyler."

Diva didn't look to Hei, Mu, or the other Time Lord. She glanced at Amaterasu briefly before looking up at the Master's fortress. She placed her hand lightly against the metal without a word, blocking out everyone else to strain to hear a heartbeat, Sam's heartbeat. But she could hear him. She would have thought that they weren't inside this place, if only she didn't know who it belonged to. If Amaterasu had come here, they must have been inside.

Her fingers curled against the metal without a change in expression. She tried to dig her fingers in to no avail, which made Diva bristle slightly. It could have made a building fall, probably, but her fingers just scraped against the odd metal made from the Plane. Diva said nothing of it, addressing Amaterasu instead.

"Sam is inside here, right?"

He offered a slight bow to Amaterasu, before nodding to the rest, eyes lingering on the woman.

"We're all friends of Sam, I'd imagine. I hope we all trust his taste, because we'll need to work together to rescue him, and the rest." He didn't much care about the rest - in fact, he didn't want to entirely thwart the Masters. That would be quite inconsiderate.

With a slight nod towards the fortress, "The Masters will have planned for a rescue attempt if they left the door open. It won't be easy."

Hei knew of Amaterasu only from stories, and from what little he knew about the Shinto religion. He didn't have the time to wonder why a Shinto goddess was here or how the hell she ended up on the Plane.

He looked between the assembled group and the open door of the fortress. The Masters were waiting, and they had Sam, maybe even the rest of the Manchester police. Who knew what lay between them and Sam?

"Then what are we waiting for?"

Mu looked towards the Fortress, then to the black-clad man. "Have you an idea of what to expect?"

He wasn't particularly worried for himself, nor for the present company, but he did worry for those currently held captive. Just because death was impermanent made it no less unpleasant.

Amaterasu nodded, looking toward the Doctor. "I do not know him as well as some do, of course, but I believe we can expect all manner of tricks and atrocities between us and those imprisoned, yes?" She paused, looking away from the Doctor as her expression darkened. "And it is the Master, or Masters. We must prepare ourselves for the worst ( ... )

It was the first time that she really looked at the party assembled. It would be better for her to go with someone, since she couldn't hear within those walls, and it would be dangerous to go alone. There were Mu and Hei, but after the recent incident, she didn't exactly trust either of them with her well being. Diva rubbed her wrists idly at the thought, instead turning to the Time Lord. She assumed that he was another Doctor (there were so many of them here, after all) and smiled politely to him. It would probably be to her advantage to have a Time Lord on her side anyways, she figured.

"It's quite a way to meet, but I think that Mu and Hei will be a better pair together. I'm Diva," she said, curtsying lightly, "I suppose we'll get to know each other later, though."

He returned the smile, and it changed not at all when he realised who she was.

Sam's vampire, then. Well, she could definitely be useful.

"I'm the Doctor. I don't know the Masters quite so well as the others do, but I think I can handle their...creativity." He was certain they pulled out all the stops; it was exciting, in a way, though of course he didn't show it.

Splitting up was dangerous, inevitably so. You covered more ground, sure, but you divided your numbers. More than that, there were five of them--they wouldn't even be able to divide evenly. They were all going to be at a disadvantage.

Hei gritted his teeth. It had just been one thing after the other lately.

"Seems like we have to split up. I'm fine going with Mu..." He looked around at the other three. "That leaves Amaterasu, I guess."

Mu nodded at the proceedings.

"It may be better if Amaterasu were to go with Diva and the Gentleman. At least that way each group has someone who can heal, if nothing else."

He was musing aloud a little bit, but he had wits enough to address the Goddess by her full name. His gaze turned to the fork in the hallway, then to Hei.

"Left or Right?"
