Is it just me or do A LOT of people in Europe smoke weed in busy public squares and streets.
I just walked around the Collosseum with Luke and there were groups smoking weed.
I smelt it all over Barcelona and Madrid .... I dismissed it thinking it was because of New Years Day and Three Kings Day/Epiphany/Xmas season but it following me around!
Berlin had a lot of it and surprisingly (for me) so did Paris. It's not just at night time or evenings and it's been old and young alike. It this a normal, accepted practice here!?
I thought it was illegal everywhere but Holland.
Anyway ..... Im having a lovely time.
Travel between countries has been ridiculously easy (only had passports checked twice at the borders)
Luke and I budgeted too much for Spain which meant we went on a shopping spree before leaving Madrid today!
I bought a gorgeous green cashmere sweater from Cos. I also splurged on a Cos dress, and two woolen/duck down coats in preparation for the New York winter! Luke and I will be there in 10 days!
....
My first night in Roma tonight. We have a comfy bed and breakfast about 400m from the Collosseum and a buch of cafés and pizzerias ! We had pizza for dinner at the local place in some little alley (it was still packed at 1030pm so I gather it must be good) and then gelato for dessert!
I can't wait to explore Rome properly and get over how much I am missing Spain - the food, the street stalls, the cervecerias, the cheap as chips food and Plaza de Sol, Plaza Santa Ana, Calle de Leon, being able to walk everywhere ..... The parks, the shopping, the people .... I loved Barcelona and I loved Madrid so very much !
Luke and I went to a Flamenco show at Cardemomo - this is so cliche but it was amazing!!!
Eating roast lamb, sangria and cod with peppers at the oldest Restaurant in the world - Le Botin Madrid
More drinks and second dinner :-)
Breakkie after a big night!
More drinking and silliness
Celebrated Three Kings Day Eve which is apparently bigger than or equal to Xmas here! In Madrid they dressed up, partied in the street til the wee hours of the morning and ate these cakes called Kings Cake - Luke and I joined in :-)
My favourites from the Reina Sofia Modern Art Museum Madrid
